[January 29, 2017]  Having regular and quality content is no longer enough to set you apart from the crowd.  To be a leader in an online market place every single post must be perfect, and you need to be considered the authoritative expert in your field.  Fortunately, when a blog is used correctly, you can use it to establish yourself as a trustworthy and reliable expert.

1.  Utilize Online Writing and Proofreading Resources

Leaders in business must be able to delegate.  You need self awareness to know exactly what your skills are, and what they aren’t.  For some people, that will mean hiring an editor to provide some finesse to their writing and make sure their blog pieces naturally flow.  For others, the whole writing process could be outsourced to a professional.

There are pros and cons to each approach.  By hiring an editor you are still controlling content and your voice will still be present throughout the article, while if you hire a writer you are hiring a representative for your business, who you will need to trust enough to speak on your behalf.  However, to benefit from a blog, updates consisting of more than 300 words need to be posted regularly, which means you may need to carve large chunks of time out of an already busy schedule.

Whether you decide to hire a writer or an editor, you can use a personal approach by interviewing and selecting a candidate yourself on Upwork or Freelancer, where you can enjoy a direct relationship and channel of communication with your blogger.  Alternatively, you can simply select the applicable options and be assigned an expert in writing or editing with UK Writings.  The process is similar with Scripted, however they are specifically offering services for business marketing.

2.      Make Your Writing As Perfect As Possible

Improve your own writing in order to upload posts as efficiently as possible.  This includes following the guides available at Australian Help or even a full writing course through Academized.  To make sure you are writing the correct amount to fuel your SEO, you can use Easy Word Count, while Cite It In makes sure you reference all sources correctly, and can’t be accused of plagiarism.

3.      Don’t Reinvent the Wheel

Many people often mistakenly confuse leadership with originality – as if you need to be doing something new to establish that you’re in charge.  There are years of studies that show tried and tested formats are most effective for internet articles.  Stick to these formats, including pictures, infographics, short sentences, lists, bullet points, and sub-headings.

4.      Don’t Miss An Opportunity To Establish Trust

There are many pages that are recognized to establish trust between blogger and reader – and it’s this trust that makes leaders in certain areas.  Be sure to include testimonials, case studies, and a founder’s photo.

5.      Express Your Opinions

Just because you’re writing to a large audience doesn’t mean you can’t have strong opinions.  Chances are, your opinions will be in line with most of your audience’s, and you’ll be more popular.  Having a slant on your blog posts will also make them more interesting to read.

Nothing can replace original ideas, or content relevant to your readers, however applying the above tips and tools to your ideas will establish you as an expert and professional in no time.
