Sabotage of the National Guard: by Army Vet

By | March 5, 2021

[March 5, 2021]  Army Vet writes to us today to alert us to sabotage being carried out against National Guard troops ordered to “protect the U.S. Capitol” and how both their military and civilian leaders categorically failed to do anything meaningful about it.

Leadership is defined by results, not by intent:  I gotta go to British newspapers to find this out?  What’s up with that.  National Guard troops stationed at the U.S. Capitol are getting sick after eating substandard food; raw meat, moldy bread and fruit, inadequate balanced meals, missed and late meals, and – God forbid me – goddamn metal shavings in the food.  Please wake up, folks. This is blatant SABOTAGE of their meals.  And, what really pisses me off is the Governors of those states furnishing the troops knew about this a month ago and, as they tell it, “we were promised this would stop.”  I cannot imagine a more significant failure for not properly caring for troops on the ground.  The greatest insult I ever could have gotten as a military leader would be told that I am not taking care of my soldiers.  Real leadership gets results.  These governors, those in charge at the Capitol building, and National Guard leaders make me sick to my stomach.  This sabotage is one of the most gross failures to lead that I have ever witnessed, and I witnessed a lot.

Leaders think and talk about the solutions and then take action:  These Army and Air National Guard members complained about this treatment for at least a month.  The Michigan Nation Guard, which has almost a thousand troops on the ground in Washington D.C., issued a press release calling the reports “very concerning” and “unacceptable.”  Yeah, right, that’s going to fix the problem.  Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s office told local media that she had taken up the issue last month and was assured it had been fixed.  This all comes on the heels of many troops sleeping in Capitol parking lots when inside facilities were available.  House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blamed social media for the atrocity.  Oops, I guess that blaming someone else for your personal failures (yes, she is in charge of caring for these troops) is okay these days of social experimentation.  But good ole Nancy would rather fight for soldier transgender rights than house and feed them properly.  Nancy needs to remember that these men and women are soldiers and airmen, not her servants.  And the military brass are just as bad; they failed spectacularly.  Real leaders identify the problem, come up with a solution, and then take effective action.  This was not done.

One of the tests of leadership is the ability to recognize a problem before it becomes an emergency:  So much for realizing there was a problem and taking action.  It is now clear that these food problems were not considered important enough for anything to get done.  But our political and military elites took enough time and resources to drill into the troops’ social media pages for any “traitorous or extremist activity.”  Other than seeing it on television, do our Washington, D.C. politicians even know the troops are still there?  I have an idea, feed the National Guard generals, Congress, and President Biden the same meals.  Make them sleep at the Capitol on the floor with the lights on everywhere.  And search their social media for “radical” thoughts.  That won’t happen, of course, and it should not happen.  No one should be mistreated this much.  It looks like those in charge are a bunch of self-promoting weasels.  I cannot describe them as weak leaders because that would be too complimentary.  Those “in charge” are cockroaches, and, as I’ve noted before, you know what to do with cockroaches.

“Army Vet” is, of course, a pseudonym. He is real. The only way he would agree to write for theLeaderMaker.com was anonymously. As you will see, he’s not afraid to name names and tell it like it is but he fears for his friends still in the military and other 3-lettered federal agencies, thus the fake name. He has worked with leaders of other militaries around the world and served several decades in the U.S. Army. He writes on military leadership but I think you will find him to be unconventional and controversial.

How scary. The US President should be ashamed but he is not leading the country anyway. Someone else is doing it and it’s not his VP Harris.

Army Vet, this is one of your better articles, well written. I am also shocked that this has occurred and also agree that the problem is NOT accidental (or stupidity or just a terrible contractor) but I believe it to be SABOTAGE as well. Let’s not let this pass. Hold people accountable. There is no excuse but to expose those responsible for the sabotage and to expose those who failed miserably to act to stop it.

This is terrible. How could anyone tolerate this travesty?

No one will be held accountable because that is what our political elites want. They want to degrade our military. Direct from Joe Biden, “stomp on them.”

Some are not sitting on their laurels. Yesterday, Congressman Jeff Van Drew issued a letter to National Guard Bureau Chief General Hokanson, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer urging immediate action to address the substandard quality of food being served to National Guard members stationed at the United States Capitol.

Hear Hear, yeah, what about that corrupt FBI under Democrat, “woke” Christopher Wray. Trump should have canned this guy who is a full blown member of the DC swamp.

Really scary that the White House under the BIden-Harris administration would be giving political tests to see who can stay in the US military. What has this country come to?

Generals? Our SJW SecDef? Wray and the FBI? Pffft. Generals are too afraid if they saying anything, our little Social Justice SecDef will toss them out as extremists. Wray and the FBI can’t find Antifa rioters even when they brag about rioting online. Dementia Joe Biden – president in name only – doesn’t even know this is happening or he would be standing on the capital steps to announce it to the world and what he is doing to fix the problem, including getting rid of many leaders responsible. But the president is just a hollow shell of a man. Even his dimwitted VP is totally out of touch with reality.

Great comments guys. Sadly, there are just too many folks who have no idea what is going on, nor do they care at all. The Troops are just window dressing for our politicians. Why hasn’t the FBI or local law enforcement been involved? Answer, because it would make those in charge look stupid (which they are).

I don’t understand why the Governors are not calling all their National Guard members home.

They are from California, New York, Michigan… In other words, their governors are lefty lunatics.

Great article for us today, Army Vet. Well done in your exposure of this on-going travesty. I would hope IMMEDIATE action is being taken, but alas, I doubt it. The National Guard Generals should have been relieved of duty instantly if this problem lasted more than one day. In addition, an immediate investigation, arrest, and jail for those responsible.

How terrible, I’m so embarrassed for our country. I’m a patriot but I also believe that people with different beliefs should be left alone. However, when we start treating our troops like some kind of baggage to be thrown around and used for political purposes, then that is all off the table. Governors, recall your troops NOW.

I heard that Abbott and the Gov of Connecticut pulled their troops when they were forced to sleep in the garage. I hope they did and it wasn’t just a lot of hot air.

I agree with you. Some recalled their troops, but others like Michigan Gov Whitmer is in lockstep with Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who don’t give a shit about our troops.

Because most of the Generals today are leftist politicians who don’t give a shit about the welfare of their men. Most of the good, conservative senior officers and flag officers have, unfortunately, already been purged from the Armed Forces.

You got that right, BC. It just goes to demonstrate that the troops “protecting” capitol hill in our nation’s capital are not really there to protect but to act as a backdrop to a political drama.

The intent of the effort has been to create and promote a political narrative that “extremists” are targeting the Biden administration. However, the claims bear no factual evidence.

Thank you so much for this article, Army Vet. We’ve not heard from you in too long of a time. We all love your no-prisoners message. Sabotage and the Generals cannot see it. Time for them to go.

Happen once, shame on you, happen again (as was done there) shame on me. Pelosi – who blames social media – should resign immediately in shame. But she will not because she is purely power hungry and will throw anyone, including the USA, under the bus for power.

Rev Cain. I can say with great trepidation than most of our politicians care only so far as they get embarrassed over this situation. Hey, I’m one of your fans. Keep these hard-hitting articles coming our way.

Rev Cain, Greg, and others here this morning, Gen. Satterfield has exposed a great disservice to our troops. It shows how much they are being disrespected. They have become purely window dressing for our political class. The troops will be just thrown away when they are no longer needed as a political prop.

Good comments here folks. But shame is not the only punishment these so-called leaders should be subject to. A good tar and feathering is a better solution.

Great article exposing what is clearly an attempt to harm the National Guard members located in Washington DC. What is MOST SHAMEFUL is the abject failure by NG leadership to do any thing about this sabotage. As I always say, Stupid is as Stupid Does … and that is for the NG so-called leaders.
