Dare to be Different!

[August 3, 2023] Dare to be different.

“Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers.” – Psalm 1:1, NLT

The only thing that’s holding some people back is who they’re spending time with.  You can’t be passive when it comes to people polluting your life and poisoning your atmosphere.  Life is too short for you to spend with negative, can’t-do-it, jealous, critical, small-minded people who are not moving forward.

You’re an Eagle, and you need some Eagles in your life.  You need some people who soar, people who are doing great things, people who have a great attitude.  But here’s the key, “You can’t soar with the Eagles if you’re hanging around chickens,” – people who have their heads down, focused on what they can’t do.  You can’t reach new levels hanging out with turkeys – people who compromise, take the easy way out, and are mediocre.  You won’t see your greatness hanging around crows – people who complain, find fault, see the worst.

The less time you spend with some people, the better off you’re going to be.  You need to associate with other Eagles, with people who inspire you to rise higher, not with people who drag you down.

Father, thank You for the joy that always follows when I separate myself from anything that interferes with my relationship to You.  Show me if there is anything that is holding me back.  I look forward to the people.  You will bring into my life to inspire me to be my best.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I served in the air force for twenty five years in the security forces career field. I retired in December 2006 at McGuire Air Force base in New Jersey. After my retirement I decided to stay in the local area to be closer to my family and the doctors taking care of my health care issues. The local church was also a factor I stated in the local area. I am preaching and teaching adult Sunday School.

I agree Darwin. And this is also one of the reasons that I continue to read this blog by Gen> Satterfield. He is consistent in his support for those who can deliver a great message of hope and happiness. Just like Mr. Eddie Gilliam has done here and made me think harder about my life and what I can do to help others. Mr. Gilliam, please continue to do God’s work out there. We hear you!!!!!

Another great guest writer for this leadership blog … thanks to Gen. Satterfield for helping get the message out that folks need guidance and help in their lives but also they should be looking at the noble goals to follow.

Yes, Eddie Gilliam has given us something very important to think about. I wish to meet him someday but I live in Nevada so that might not happen. Congrats, Eddie on your article and thank you.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 ~ So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Like each morning at this time, I get my cup of coffee, sit in my easy chair, call my hound dog to my feet, and relax. Then I pull up Gen. Satterfield’s leadership blog for a quick read before I start the day. Today, like always, does not disappoint. Reading Pastor eddie Gilliam’s Godly message is refreshing. Thank you, sir for your devotion to God and for having Gen. Satterfield post this for you. 👍

Nothing like an insightful article in the morning to get your brain juices flowing. I can see that Mr. Gilliam is a man of God. There are not enough of us. Grow men of God and you will have less of a hard life. Be kind, be religious, be respectful and never ever lay down with the Devil like so many of our politicians are doing today.

Wesley, pow, you nailed it about our politicians. I’m esp. concerned about Pres Joe Biden who has gone full tilt to the evils of our society and embraces the devil. Just look at how he has allowed trans people to show themselves naked on the White House lawn in public. Disgusting behavior he tolerates and encourages. That is the pure definition of EVIL.

👀👀👀👀👀 See what is in front of you and do not look back. That is the way we are meant to be.

Mr. Eddie Gilliam is writing about important things that we all should know about but, unfortunately, young adults are never taught.

    Ignore this at your peril.
