[November 6, 2026] After winning Michigan’s U.S. Senate race, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed stood before supporters and directed a pointed message at his Republican opponent, former Congressman Mike Rogers. “Mike, enjoy your retirement,” he said. “May we never have to see the likes of you in this state again.”
This is not how a winner is supposed to act. In sports, the team that wins shakes hands with the other side. In American politics, the same rule applies.
A leader shows grace by thanking voters, acknowledging the hard work of the other campaign, and speaking about the future for everyone in the state. El-Sayed chose instead to insult his opponent and suggest that people who supported Rogers do not belong.
That is unsportsmanlike. It is the opposite of the respect that holds a free society together. That is also poking the other person in the eye, and that rarely works out in the long run.
Mike Rogers is an Army veteran and FBI agent who served Michigan for years. Disagreeing with his ideas is fair. Telling him, and by extension his supporters, that the state would be better if they simply disappeared is not acceptable. Are we surprised by El-Sayed’s comments? No.
El-Sayed’s behavior fits a larger pattern. He ran as a progressive who wants Medicare for All, higher taxes on the wealthy, and an end to most outside money in politics. Those are big changes, and fair enough.
More troubling, however, are his associations and past statements. He has campaigned alongside figures who have praised groups that attack the United States and its allies. He has called Israel’s response to the October 7 attacks a “genocide” and demanded an end to U.S. military support for a longtime partner. He has previously described American institutions, including policing, in terms of systemic racism and white supremacy. In one older post, he quoted a Marxist thinker about a dying old world and a new one being born amid “monsters.”
These views go beyond the norm. It suggests a man who sees the United States as a system that must be torn down and rebuilt according to his ideas. Calling for the elimination of ICE, packing the Supreme Court, and scrapping the Second Amendment are not moderate reforms. They are radical steps that would weaken the country’s ability to control its borders, protect its Constitution, and defend its citizens.
When a senator-elect spends more time attacking American institutions and allies than defending them, it is fair to ask whether he will put the country’s interests first. Flash: he will not.
Grace after victory is not weakness. It is strength. It shows that the winner understands the job is to serve everyone, not just the people who voted for him. El-Sayed’s refusal to offer even basic respect to Rogers, combined with his long record of radical positions, gives voters reason to watch carefully how he uses his new power.
Treating half the state as the enemy after the election is over does not build unity. It deepens division. Leaders who win with class earn lasting trust. Leaders who gloat make future cooperation harder.
America does not benefit from leaders who treat political opponents as people the state would be better without. That attitude is bad for Michigan and bad for the country.
JUST NOW: Dr. Abdul El-Sayed has a message to his Republican opponent Mike Rogers after U.S. Senate win.

“With El-Sayed’s election to the United States Senate, we may have reached some kind of a crisis in our close encounter with Islam in the United States. Assimilate this! It should represent a turning point or a wake-up call, but it seems rather to represent the hot new thing in the Democratic Party.” — Scott Johnson, https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2026/11/your-classic-sore-winner.php

Please read my books:

He has a great smile, a pretty face, lots of promises of free stuff (typical Marxist), tearing down the rich (or taxing the rich), no wars (a lie), and that we are all equal. All this is what young and old in America want; a compassionate society that accepts everyone from across the world. But what Abdul El-Sayed wants is to import more Islamists into America to get free stuff as part of his plan to destroy us. It is obvious. But he has managed to convince plenty of crazies to vote for him.
yep he is scum
When Americans elect American haters, we are doomed.
