Can You Learn Anything from Today’s Military?

By | December 3, 2021

[December 3, 2021]  FUBAR?  Can you learn anything from today’s military?  As the American people rapidly lose confidence in our military, America’s senior-most Generals and Admirals are doubling down on policies that have nothing to do with warfighting.  We Americans “see” what’s happening, and we don’t like it.

Is it even worth it for young people to join the U.S. military today?  That is the question that nobody can genuinely answer and is linked to our declining confidence.  At least nobody has an answer that has any depth of knowledge about an ordinary Soldier, Sailor, Marine, Airman, Coastie, Reservist, or Guardsman.

A recent survey published Wednesday noted that confidence in the U.S. military is declining across all demographics and political affiliations. While we have lost confidence in all major institutions, the military’s fall has been most dramatic and without precedent.  Why?

The biggest reason people cite for their loss of confidence is poor political leadership at the top, the President, Congress, and the politicization of top military brass.  For example, only 40% of respondents were confident the military could act in a “professional and non-political manner.” Shocking!

Department of Defense leadership diversity and inclusion efforts and our disastrous retreat from Afghanistan come under the greatest fire.  President Joe Biden, according to nearly all of those responding blame him and specifically his “poor judgment.”

Americans no longer think our military can either deter war or win a war if ordered to go to war.  That alone is a dreadful finding.  They place the blame squarely on the shoulders of our leadership and failure to prioritize military and biological threats from China.

Can you learn anything from today’s military?  Yes, but it is not good.

Moron of the day. See the thumbnail Gen. Satterfield is using here? It looks like a clueless snowflake straight out of college. “Brushing” the front sights of her M16 but probably never fired it. This is the type of weaklings the US Army is looking for these days. More social experimentation. Oh, and if you are “trans” the Army welcomes you. When will we have the first trans General?

See any tutu’s on Normandy Beach in WW2? Real men hit the beach, the pussies stayed home cowering in their mommy’s basement.

I say YES and undoubtedly YES. But, they must be mentally strong to resist the leftist indoctrination. Those joining today are our leaders tomorrow.

I’m on the fence on this one. I need more info. Perhaps in the future we can get more from Gen. Satterfield who clearly has greater insight than most of us have.

My short answer to the question is NO. I would not recommend military service today until the likes of Lloyd Austin and Mark Milley are given their retirement papers and those who have been supporting the “diversity and inclusion” mandates and searches for wrong-think (read that as not leftist-progressive ideology) are fired. There are many in the military that need to get out now and most of them are in senior ranks. Show them the door today and we start toward a better military.

Good comment Max and I think we are not going far enough by throwing the bums out. This article points to the problem; Joe Biden. Until he is voted out, nothing much will change. Sad. But local elections matter and monitoring the elections very very closely to stop cheating is also necessary.

Takes a lot more than throwing a few “bums” out. Takes a change in leadership at the very top and the willingness to break some toys.

“Lloyd Austin always had the reputation while on active duty of being the affirmative action hire as he moved up the ranks. In other words, he got his job because of the color of his skin and not because of his performance. You want proof? Just watch his exchange today with Congressman Matt Gaetz regarding Bishop Garrison (start at 3:20).” See link by Harold.

I’m not surprised at all. Just watch him on tv. Says a lot. And why in the hell is he always wearing a mask? To show he’s woke? Lead by example, Lloyd, be a man.

I continue to be impressed with this leadership blog. Gen. Satterfield makes us THINK and re-THINK problems and solutions. What to do is a good question but there is much to be gained by understanding the process we go thru to get to the answer.

Excellent article and scary. The idiocy of our military and civilian leaders is appalling. What can we do about it?

Elections have consequences. Cheating in elections also has consequences if we let it continue. VOTE out the crazies and elect folks with proven competence and mental stability. Ignore the campaign slogans. Think for yourself and be responsible. That is a start.

Now a bunch of trans-wimps are joining our “social experimental” Army! Ouch!

“Ouch” is right. Quota hire SecDef Lloyd Austin and his ilk are the most incompetent senior leaders in the history of the US military. What’s up with Biden appointing idiots? Well, simple answer, if you are incompetent, you hire incompetents.

Explains a lot about WHY we no longer respect or trust our military.

Right, winning wars is not important. Caving to the LBGTQAXYZ lobby is top of their agenda. War won’t happen, they think, and deterrence is not important except when we send in our tutu waring Marines to take of the local Chinese nightclubs.
