Good Leadership Impacts Lives!

By | October 30, 2023

[October 30, 2023] Leader is the root word of leadership.  A leader is a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country, “the leader of a protest group”.  Remember, good leadership positively impacts lives.

What qualities do leaders have to be effective?  They must be a good listener.  Why?  Because they don’t know everything.  Too many so-called leaders fall into that trap, not wanting to listen to the people.

They need people to lead.  For example, Moses listened to his father-in-law Jethro when he saw Moses was trying to do all the counseling of all the people issues.  Jethro told Moses to get wise men under him to deal with the smaller issues of the people.  Moses obeyed.  Leaders, don’t be afraid to let your staff help you lead the business or group.

Next point: leaders aren’t a “yes man.”  This type of leader is not effective.  I know that firsthand from my military career.  Leaders are willing to be team players.  They don’t want all the credit when things are going well, nor do they blame others for lack of success.  Keep your ego in check.

True leaders are also not afraid to go against the grain.  Barnabas chose Paul (Saul), the new convert who had a reputation for throwing followers of Jesus in jail and having them killed.  Barnabas was not afraid to take him and introduce them to Paul, to a world that only knew Paul’s past.  They follow God at all costs without hesitation or fear!

I served in the air force for twenty five years in the security forces career field. I retired in December 2006 at McGuire Air Force base in New Jersey. After my retirement I decided to stay in the local area to be closer to my family and the doctors taking care of my health care issues. The local church was also a factor I stated in the local area. I am preaching and teaching adult Sunday School.

This man, Rev. Eddie, is a good friend of Gen. Satterfield and shows how important it is to have good men and women stick together to help get the word out about God and his works.

Gen. Satterfield has a great website here and plenty of articles that mix things up a bit and we also have a small num ber of contributors who add a little pepper and salt to the mix as well. Keep this website going at all costs.

And, everyone be sure to get a copy of Gen. Satterfield’s books. My favorite is “55 Rules for a Good Life” and when you read it, you will thank me.

Sir, excellent message to those of us looking to better ourselves. The Bible speaks to the many ways how we can be better, more caring, loving, and understanding of others. That is a major theme in Christianity. Let us hope for peace in the world but also prepared for war when it comes; and war always comes.
