Happy Veterans Day … We Remember!

By | November 11, 2014

[November 11, 2014] Our U.S. military veterans have struggled over many obstacles yet they have been vigorous champions of America and successfully established their place in our history. In particular our Vietnam veterans were treated with profound disrespect upon their return from that war. Fortunately our citizens now hold the United States military and its veterans in the highest esteem and give much deserved respect. Their courage and sacrifice is the hallmark by which our great nation has continued to be a bright light in the world.

Wherever I go our citizens are curious about our veterans; wanting to know about the military as well as why and how our military organization has the capability to make ordinary people into real heroes. Despite many of our military personnel who came from broken homes and dependency on government handouts, they overcame their own individual obstacles and have stood up to be admired.

Veterans have worked tirelessly to educate the citizenry of the sacrifices that our military has made and what makes it so special. Veterans remain proud of their service. This is a great story and one that will not be forgotten. From Valley Forge, to Berlin, to Baghdad, our military has done the job required of us. Our camaraderie is legendary. Go to any VA hospital and see it for yourself. Oh, and thank them while you’re there.

We celebrate them every day, but especially on Veterans Day. We thank them, not to hold them separate from us but to hold them closer to us, for they are us. Thank a veteran today and tell them of your appreciation of what they have done in their service to this great nation. We remember!
