Legalize Comedy

By | April 7, 2021

[April 7, 2021]  On occasion, I will hit on a topic that grabs my attention.  Comedy is one of them, and while I’m no connoisseur of funniness (a personal failure), I do recognize its benefits.  JP Sears is one of the new comedians whose careers took off in the coronavirus era of shutdowns and government-sponsored heavy handiness.  He makes me laugh.

JP Sears has a YouTube channel called Awaken with JP (see link here).  I recommend you see a few of his short videos to get a good view of his style.  On his website at AwakenWithJP, he advertises t-shirts with messages like “legalize comedy” and “fear is not a virtue.”  He is also a stand-up comedian, emotional healing, and life coach, as well as a businessman.

His forte is producing satirical videos about wellness and the American Left (poking good fun at them).  JP Sears gets under the skin of leftists, and, of course, that is what satire does when the subject of the joke can’t take it.  Apparently, JP believes that leftists take him seriously and literally while mainstream America sees him for what he is: a comedian.

Here is a sampling of headlines from JP’s videos (remember he uses satire):

  • 10 Reasons Why Freedom is DANGEROUS!
  • Kamala Harris chooses Bill Clinton to empower women! There are, of course, no problems with that …
  • Here’s why there is no crisis at the border! A breaking news special liberal report!
  • California and Portland are doing GREAT! Super honest news report …
  • Here’s what ALL liberals are like … According to conservatives.
  • What liberals think ALL conservatives are like…
  • PETA says animals are getting offended! Are we getting dumber as a species?

If you can’t tell by now, JP Sears finds it amusing to make fun of liberals and Democrat politicians.  There is considerable content to work with and few other comedians in his lane.  I think JP finds this both as an opportunity and rewarding.  For example, liberals take his satire literally and help drive people to his channels (where he makes even more money).

Give his websites and his YouTube channels a spin.  Please tell me what you think.  Remember, a good habit of a successful leader is to have a sense of humor.

Very funny man. I also recommend viewing his videos on YouTube until they “cancel” him for making fun of political leftists.

Hi folks, time to reorient ourselves and to never forget that humor is a medicine that makes us more human and more tolerant of others. Comedy also opens our eyes to other cultures and nuisances of behavior that perhaps we overlooked or didn’t know about. I’m also a big fan of stand up comedy and have gone to many shows in my home town of Chicago (plenty of forums for comedy). The disturbing trend that I see is that there are fewer and fewer outlets of comedy. I think this is a mark of socialism that destroys our creativity and our humor as well.

Very good comedian. Found him several years ago but his routine has gotten funnier. He also does shows across the country and all of them are sold out.

Yeah, me too. Very funny, in particular if you are not a whacko liberal.

… and you don’t have to be too smart to understand his jokes. Jokes about everyday life in a modern American.

I’m just a regular guy who loves comedy, esp standup. The routines are creative, never the same, and hits hard at everybody. Only political leftists don’t like comedy because —- they are too superior to us cretins and are too sophisticated to laugh.

I discovered JP Sears over a year ago just as the pandemic craziness was taking hold. I regularly watch his channel and find his satire absolutely great. The fact that he hammers leftists and the communist wannabes totally, is what really puts the icing on the cake for me.

Me too. [pause in time] I went to see a few of his videos and visited his website. I ordered the “legalize freedom” t-shirt. Now I can’t wait to see how people react.
