Moral Courage:  Canadian Truckers

By | February 4, 2022

[February 4, 2022]  I’m a little late getting around to this article, much to my embarrassment.  I like to recognize courage immediately when I see it.  Well, 30 lashes and to the dog house for me.  It takes a lot of abuse before Canadians, a very laid-back population, get up enough drive to take on their government, but that is precisely what is happening with Canadian truckers.

I just love it when people stand up against their government when that government is restricting their freedoms.  The truckers traveled several routes in all provinces to Canada’s capital Ottawa on January 29.  The “Freedom Convoy” rallied at Parliament Hill, continuing the protest.

There is plenty of hate being directed against them; I believe based on the fact their actions run counter to Canadian PM’s Trudeau’s mask and vaccination mandates.  Trudeau went into hiding (he had contracted COVID but is feeling fine) and issued several comments condemning the truckers.  He said that almost 90% of Canadians were vaccinated, as were many truckers in Canada, and that a “small fringe minority of people” in the convoy do not “represent the views of Canadians.”

A good leader would recognize PM Trudeau’s comments for what they were, stupid.  You just don’t insult people advocating for more freedom, even if you think their messaging is not too bright.  The best leader tactic is to work directly with them.  He also called the trucker protest an “insult to memory and truth.”  Trudeau is a genuine religious believer in government for all.

To make matters worse, several politicians in Canada and the U.S., along with their typical media following, have suggested the truckers have a history of white nationalism, racism, Islamophobia, Q-Anon, and other far-right groups.  And the truckers support violence.  That’s a real head-snapper.

Such defamation of a large portion of the Canadian population is just bad leadership.  We can learn from Trudeau, other anti-trucker politicians and the media; what not to do.  Learn from these mistakes and don’t make them.  When large numbers of those you are responsible for start to resist your policies, first stop and think.  Trudeau wasn’t thinking.

Grab it, or let it pass you by.

I stand with the Canadian truckers.

This “freedom protest” is not going away even if the peaceful protesters are beaten and arrested by the police and then jailed. Freedom is an idea. It can be suppressed but it cannot be destroyed. There is always a way to bring freedom back from the jackboot of the devil.

The effete pseudo-intellectual Justin Trudeau is becoming the ultimate example of Roman Dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, raging from a balcony at mocking crowds. He denounced protesting truckers as a “small fringe minority.” And, then he fled the city of Ottawa. How cowardly and clueless at the same time.

The Cavalry rides into Canada. This story is not going away anytime soon, despite PM Justin “I’m a coward” Trudeau running and hiding after being vaxxed and boosted and getting covid any way. How ironic for the little sissy man to hide from real men who drive trucks.

The UNWOKE are finally realizing that the “woke” communists are coming for our freedoms. SUPPORT the CANADIAN TRUCKERS! This is how you stop evil. And, let me be clear, PM Trudeau and Pres Biden are EVIL. Period. If you are against the truckers, you have thrown your lot in with the Devil.

The attacks on the peaceful trucker protest is getting out of hand. Calling them Nazis, cutting off funds they raise (GoFundMe), saying they are violent (PM Trudeau), etc. This is what happens in totalitarian societies like Russia and China. Now it happens in Canada and the US.

It looks like the Canadian government is concerned not so much about illegal activity as about the populist threat to its own prerogatives. GO CANADIAN TRUCKERS! GO FREEDOM from GOVT MANDATES!

Saw a sign the other day. It read, “Tests positive for a new variant.” Shows picture of Canadian Trudeau. “Coward-19.” SYMPTOMS: Fear of truckers and patriotic Canadians. My suffer from withdrawal from public view and prolonged loss of respect.

Let’s be clear, I support these truckers because they are only asking for freedom from a govt that is massively interested only in your obedience. Like Gen. Satterfield, I stand with them – symbolically – and am willing to put my name on the support letter and sign like John Hancock did. My risk is minimal. Support the truckers from Canada.

Update: While numbers have reportedly dropped somewhat since last weekend, Ottawa is still thronged with pro-freedom truckers and their supporters. The protest has primarily been directed against covid mandates, but it has morphed into a broader rebellion against the oppressive bureaucratic state.

Government and media cowards or tyrants, or both? The Washington Post called the Canadian freedom convoy “toxic.” Trudeau has accused the protestors of representing “anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, anti-black racism, homophobia, and transphobia”—none of which is true.

Trudeau and the media know the protestors aren’t a “fringe minority.” On the contrary, these tyrants know it is they who are the fringe minority. But they also understand that what power they have is derived exclusively from a fearful and obedient patriotic majority; a majority, which accepts the tyrants’ big lie that they are a powerless and outnumbered minority.

Gen. Satterfield, I must congratulate you on this article. The main statement that sticks with me is, “Such defamation of a large portion of the Canadian population is just bad leadership.” That’s exactly why I read your blog on leadership. I learn more each day. It might just be a small amount of leadership but today’s blog post make a big splash for me.

These are the heroes of our time. First it was the grocery store and medical staff workers, and now it’s the truckers. All have been vilified by marxist leftists. The latter believe in nihilism and that only they have the answers. Their preening is disgusting.

A huge part of the lefty self-image revolves around feeling superior to the working class.

Goes to show how out of touch they really are. Their interest is hedonistic and they want power over you. Reject their stupid, antiquated, proven-wrong, Marxist ways and accept freedom instead.

So we’re finally seeing a genuine, bottom-up, working-class revolution. In Canada, and increasingly in the United States, truckers and others are refusing to follow government orders, telling the powerful that, in a popular lefty formulation, if there’s no justice, there’s no peace. Naturally, the left hates it.

I too stand with the truckers. Their plight and actions are true. They believe in what they do and show it. I congratulate them as our newest heroes against government overreach and excesses. Time to reign in too much expert government action.
