The Downside to Politicizing the CDC

[May 4, 2021]  Throughout the West, we are witnessing an unusual trend.  Organizations of all stripes are being politicized, where their mission changes depending upon political party affiliation.  The downside to politicization is the usefulness of that organization.

A recent example is the U.S. Center for Disease Control.  Tasked with protecting American health, safety, and security threats, both foreign and in the U.S.1   CDC leadership has pledged to base all public health decisions on the highest quality scientific data derived openly and objectively.  This is, indeed, a noble goal; necessary for the continued trust and confidence citizens have in them.

Yet, the CDC is an organization discredited by the COVID-19 virus and America’s response to it.  This picture is a snapshot of the agency’s latest guidance for vaccinated and non-vaccinated Americans:

CDC Mask Guidelines

Common sense tells us that it is just about impossible to either catch or transmit the COVID virus if you have been vaccinated.  Why would any vaccinated person wear a mask at an outdoor event?  The indoor guidelines are likewise absurd.  You have to wear a mask to go to an “uncrowded” shopping center.  Why?  No one I know does that, with good reason.

Case data unequivocally shows that masks do not work, and the way we use them is far from perfect.2,3,4  There is no good argument for wearing masks if you have been vaccinated.  The only reason I can think of is that those “in charge” (politicians, police, health officials) believe those not vaccinated will also stop wearing masks.  And, how do you tell us apart?

Here is what I’m starting to see.  People are no longer wearing masks because they are vaccinated, and wearing a mask makes no sense.  They have looked at the world around them, see that masks have no benefit, and have made a simple commonsense decision to stop wearing masks when it does no one any good.

Even small stores are getting rid of their mask mandates.  Only large organizations continue to carry on with this politicized policy.  I predict that folks will be bolder in their rebellion against the apparent political bias of the CDC and begin to ignore any guidelines that originate there.

The Biden-Harris administration is, sadly, helping and encouraging the politicization of all institutions because it gives them prestige and power over us. It cements their power. The same is happening in the military – I’m a witness.

This is very unfortunate. What is the solution?

Elections matter. Those who believe in America must vote in vast numbers to overcome the cheating of the anti-American leftists that are trying to destroy us and substitute a Marxist state where “good ole Joe” reigns supreme.

Here is an example of a failed organization — using their own standards and mission statement. They have utterly failed. Much of what many of the scientists do there is great but people like Dr. Fauchi should be immediately retired. He is dangerous.

Dr. Fauci based all of his predictions on models the that were OFF BY MILLIONS and then later told reporters,“You can’t really rely on models.”

True, masks don’t work and they do have some effectiveness but the way we are wearing them makes them worse than neutral. They keep up from building antibodies and that will harm us in the long term.

Gen. Satterfield, another excellent article on a subject dear to my heart. I hate it when govt oversteps its bounds. Americans are okay with short term emergencies that are tackled by the govt but hate it longer term. We are way beyond longer term and want them to get off our backs.

Good article. I think that sometime in the future we will look back and say that all this hoopla was for nothing and that the lives destroyed by leaders like Cuomo of NY or Murphy of NJ or Witmer of MI was something that could easily have been avoided if we had just done nothing at all. But with the political climate, partisanship at the extreme (eg Nancy Pelosi), political leaders HAD TO DO SOMETHING, but that something was wrong.

Ha Ha, great Forrest but you know that politicians will remain stupid as long as we let them get away with it. Yes, they have the bully pulpit but come election time we can make noise as well.

You tell ’em, Forrest. Why do we elect politicians that make so many unforced errors? Because of the dumbing down of our schools. If you are black, you pass, no standards because you might get a bad grade and that’s racism. /sarc off.

Max, well said. And now the politicians are saying if they had not acted so quickly that millions would have died from COVID. Wrong! More wrong that any of us will ever know. But history is written by those in power and the crazy leftists are in power — 😂

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) unveiled updated guidelines on Tuesday (last week) detailing activities that vaccinated people can safely resume, including attending small outdoor gatherings without the need to wear a mask.

Guidelines for people who are already vaccinated !@#$% what’s that about. There should be no guidelines except to get out and enjoy life. Hunker down is what the tyrannical CDC is saying to us pions.
