[May 24, 2016] Being a leader requires a lot of work and commitment. A lot of people say that this is something you’re born with but I disagree. To become a qualified leader you need to work on it and perfect the skill.

What are some of the qualities you need to have to be a good leader?

  1. Motivational speaker

This is not a must have but leading your team to new conquests you must be able to motivate and inspire them. You need to wake up every day with a new zest for live and transmit that energy to your team. If you don’t have that in you than you are on the wrong path, your team needs to look up on someone and that someone needs to be their leader.

  1. Confidence

This is a MUST HAVE you can’t expect to run a proper business and you don’t trust yourself let alone someone else. Exude that confidence to everyone, be sure in every word you tell and your team will follow you. Most people tend to question leaders authority when they are not confident enough. If you feel shy and not strong enough you are not prepared to be a strong leader.

  1. Commitment

A very important trait in leader is commitment. When you say that you will do something, honor your word and do just that, it doesn’t matter how small and insignificant it is, your word must be gold. Anything from small insignificant stuff all the way to firing someone if you said you will do it, honor it.

  1. Positive approach

People are not the same. Everyone reacts differently to the same thing. Making that positive approach to people in your team make the feel significant and irreplaceable people tend to work harder when you approach them differently. Become someone they can talk to and relate to on everyday level.

  1. Delegate tasks

Being a leader comes with responsibilities. You need to delegate work to your business team but at the end of the day you will be the only one responsible for the work that it’s done. So delegate carefully.

There is a saying that goes, “Your team is strong only as the weakest link.”  So make sure that your weakest link is very strong. If you do not have the skills to be an effective leader, your team will not follow you and at the end of the day you may become the weakest link.

When trouble occurs and it will if you are not able to fix it and make your team strong and have faith in you than you are not ready to be a leader yet. Work on your leader traits and your team will recognize it. In this day and age everyone is replaceable and so are you. So make sure that you are ready to lead a team before you start.

You do not have to be a born leader but with enough practice you can become one.
