[July 25, 2017] How to become a good leader of a work team? This is an essential question for those people, who want to have a good coherent and harmonious stuff. Good leaders always think about their followers. The American consultant, George Bradt believes that for this purpose it is necessary to achieve loyalty, trust, and adherence to your views.

The first and most essential condition of becoming a Manager, and in other words, to become a Leader is an internal strive to lead. David Evans writes: “Do you really want to lead or to be led? In fact, good executors are as essential as good leaders. I believe, there are enough managers of many enterprises, and these enterprises often feel the lack of good executors, so, if you don’t have your inner ambition to lead, that is OK.”

If you are still reading these lines, then you definitely have the strive to lead. Let’s try to analyze the main leader qualities and ways of developing them.

The Sociability

Sociability is the main feature of the leader. Such people can easily become the soul of any company thus can easily find a common language with anyone. These could be formal or informal relationships: work, leisure, sports, and much more. By communicating on an equal footing with everyone, the leader has to get to know his team in order to use his knowledge for common good instead of personal purposes.

Your Level of Intelligence

Read more pieces of news, books, and magazines. Be knowledgeable about everything. He who owns the information – rules the world. Get acquainted with literate and smart interlocutors, communicate with them, exchange some useful information from different areas of your knowledge. Your mental outfit should grow all the time. “Develop and refine your intelligence by all available means.” says Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google.

Self-Confidence, As a Key Quality

This is the key leadership quality of a leader. It is necessary to constantly track your successes and analyze defeats. Demonstrated your confidence during communication. When speaking, the leader always stands straight, with his head high, having an eye contact with an interlocutor. Never use such words as, “maybe”, “seems like”, “probably”, and alike ones. It is better to say, “I believe”, “I am sure”.

Your Inner Power

Finally, be strong. Thomas Friedman from the New York Times Columnist states: A strong and hardy person feels perfect he successfully handles any difficulties. Be active, temper your organism, and go in for sports. Find the business you would love, that will give you an opportunity to prove yourself and to get new acquaintances.

Set Your Priorities Right

Put your career first, and your work on the second place. The thing is that you can be an executor for years, not a leader only because of your job does not require leaders of your area of expertise. In this case, it is better for you to find a leading position in some other company. Go for it!
