Bud Light Underestimates their Customers

By | April 13, 2023

[April 13, 2023]  My maternal grandmother, we called her Bigmama, used to say, “Never underestimate other people.”  She was right.  The beer company Anheuser-Busch is taking a beating over a nationwide boycott of its Bud Light product after rolling out a transgender TikTok influencer to promote its beer.

Bud Light attempted to improve its sales among young people by having Dylan Mulvaney promote the beer.  The uproar over this decision was no surprise.  The problem is not just that Mulvaney is only famous for being a man pretending to be a woman but that Mulvaney is a man acting like a stupid, ridiculous caricature of a female.  Mulvaney just celebrated his “365 days of girlhood.”

It’s not that Bud Light drinkers dislike transgender people, they mostly don’t care, but that Mulvaney mocks women with his “puerile performance of a hyperactive, ignorant, and ridiculous preteen girl” and “is genuinely one-of-a-kind obnoxious,” noted Tiana Lowe in an opinion piece.

To make matters worse, the Bud Light VP of Marketing Alissa Heinerscheid defended her decision to hire Dylan Mulvaney, describing Bud Light’s former customers as “fratty and out of touch.”  Not a very smart move and she clearly underestimated Bud Light’s customers.  Comments on social media are brutal.

“She has the mouth of a horse and the brain of a gnat.” – Paula Mirengoff

I’m not sure if Paula is referring to Mulvaney or Heinerscheid.  But arrogance does play a role here, and pandering to the transgender crowd in front of Bud Light beer drinkers, who are primarily men, is not a good strategy.

The predictable backlash now includes a boycott of Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch products.  Don’t underestimate other people.

Don Trump Jr. calls for end to “misguided” boycott of Bud Light. The man is out of touch. Let the boycott continue. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Go America, show ‘‘em we are not ‘fratty” and ‘out of touch’ like the AB VP of Marketing believes. Screw Don Jr. Get your act together boy.

Great job outlining the Bud Light problem. I’m not sure that just boycotting the beer today matters much. Most working class men and their wives will just go back to Bud Light in a couple of months anyway. If you really want to send a signal to Anheuser Busch, then don’t ask for the VP of Marketing to resign. Just never buy their beer again. Simple. Effective. The right way to fix a problem is stop buying their products forever.

Alissa Heinerscheid, Bud Light’s VP of Marketing, doubled down on her extreme woke strategy to promote the “declining” American beer brand to “young people”, while smearing her former customers as “fratty and out of touch”. How’s that working out for you, lady? @budlight. This is worse than the trans beer endorsement.

If you want to pander to the trans community, then go ahead. But do not expect the majority of us to jump on board like we are a bunch of brainless, simpleton, air-headed 9 year old girls. We won’t do it. And this Mulvaney chick (or weirdo with obvious mental health problems) needs help, not promotion. That is what makes a society sick. When a society is openly willing to lie about the most obvious, then we are doomed until strong MEN come around and do something about it. Bud Light drinkers are, let’s admit it, most lower class men. I’ve heard about 80%. Now, our lower class men are finally standing up to be MEN once again. Go get ’em. I’m there too. Boycott BUD LIGHT.

Today is the anniversary of the beginning of the US Civil War where an estimated 750,000 soldiers died. And now we are discussing transgender women being the epitome of womanhood. My, how has our national dialogue has changed.

Pushing transgenderism down our collective mouths is not a good way to engender anyone to like or respect you.

This is an excellent point and one that Gen. Satterfield is making. I would say that this is a classic mistake, underestimating your customer base and then unwilling to admit your mistake. I would guess that Alissa Heinerscheid will not be fired, because she was a minority hire and they don’t get fired but just moved around to another high paying job with less public responsibility. Let’s see. Hummm, not yet fired.
