Funny but Good Advice from Chris Rock

By | January 2, 2026

[January 2, 2026]  I consider humor to be a form of beauty.  Done correctly and with the right audience, humor can have unexpected value.  Humor can be a source of good advice (tomorrow’s article will address this).  Chris Rock is one of those comedians who knows how to find humor in some of the more “humorless” circumstances.  He became famous in the 1980s for his stand up routines.

His short video on “How not to get your ass kicked by the police!” is one of the best I’ve seen.  What he does is make us laugh at a taboo subject (police brutality on black men) while his humorous advice provides an acceptable outlet.

“People in the black community, myself, often worry that we might be the victim of police brutality.  So, as a public service the Chris Rock Show proudly presents this educational video.  Have you ever been face to face with a police officer and wondered is he about to kick my ass?  Well, wonder no more.  If you follow these easy tips, you’ll be fine.” – Chris Rock

Chris Rock has several very basic rules to follow to ensure you won’t “get your ass kicked by the police”:

  1. Obey the law.
  2. Use common sense.
  3. Stop immediately (if the police are behind you).
  4. Turn that shit off (loud rap music)
  5. Be polite.
  6. Shut the fuck up (friends with a loud nasty mouth).
  7. Get a white friend.

And, my personal favorite:

  1. Don’t ride with a mad woman.

Reading this list without the context of Chris Rock seems like plain old and boring wisdom.  But Chris Rock is a great comedian and he knows just how to put his advice into one of the funniest stand up routines I’ve seen.  I’m not sure when the video came out but it was probably 30 or so years ago.  The wisdom is unchanged.

Here it is on X:

Good break from what is happening in the world with so many attacking Western traditions and supporting the anti-American, antisemitic, and pro-Islamic cultures. This cannot stand. Chris Rock is truly an exceptional comedian who gives us SOLUTIONs to ordinary human connections. Thank you, Chris Rock.

😁 What I appreciate most about comedians in general – and Chris Rock – is they are always on the edge of reality, pushing the limits of our society. 💯 No wonder comedians are so respected. 😂 They push it all the time. 🎥Sometimes comedians like Chris Rock know more than we know. 👀

Except, and this is very important, Leftists despise comedians like Chris Rock bc of that very reason. Leftists deeply believe that humor makes fun of the “oppressed.” Therefore, “power” is being used to keep down these oppressed people and humor is therefore evil, by nature. This is part of the reason they go to heckle comedians and comics. Nothing like a good old, finger pointing, gesture waving, little pinko commie Leftist. No wonder so many think these Leftists are just nuts. I’m also a fan of Chris Rock …. And of course, Gen. Satterfield too. Great start sir to your blog for the year 2026.
