Hero Kid, Loser Teacher

By | September 2, 2023

[September 2, 2023]  By now, most of you will have heard of the “hero” kid who would not back down when his teacher and school administrators ordered him to remove a Gadsden Flag patch from his bookbag.  They wrongly claimed the Gadsden Flag was associated with slavery.  The kid is a hero for his actions.

This kid, 12-year-old Jaiden, and his mom stood up to his woke teacher, the teachers union that backed her, and the school in a Colorado Springs public school system.

Here is a little context.  Jaiden is an honor roll student; he gets kicked out of class, removed from school, and cannot continue attending class to keep his grades up because he supposedly broke a school policy.  His offense was wearing a flag patch on his bookbag with the words “I will not back down.  Don’t tread on me.”  The teacher claimed that the Gadsden flag’s origin is with slavery.  “We can’t have that [flag] around other kids.”

Claiming that this flag is a racist, pro-slavery symbol is ridiculous and shows utter historical incompetence by both this teacher and the school.  This whole thing went viral, and thousands of patriots jumped on this injustice and made their voices known.  In less than 24 hours, Jaiden and his family racked up a big WIN for freedom.

The Vanguard School board sent out an “important message” to all parents.  The board issued a groveling apology (of course, that is expected) and allowed the patch to be worn on Jaiden’s bookbag.

To make this incident even better, Jaden’s mom took a photo of Jaden standing behind one of the teacher’s cars with leftist political stickers all over, one of which affirms trans kids.  Woke ideologues continue running schools but are losing out to ordinary people with common sense.

Jaiden is a hero; his teacher and the school are losers.

Excellent! I enjoyed the article. Gen. Satterfield, thanks for highlighting this abomination of a teacher. I do think she needs to at least be suspended for the school year and the Principal fired for allowing it.

Hi folks, good morning. I don’t think the teacher should be fired. Her humiliation should be enough to send a clear message to woke teachers across the nation that being anti-free speech and that the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag is not a symbol of hate but of rebellion against British tyranny over the original 13 colonies. To conflate it wrongly with slavery is intellectual laziness and dishonesty. Humiliate her in front of the world.

Well said Ron C. But woke teachers will see this as ONLY an attack on an “innocent” teacher trying to do her job. They will not see this as anything that it is intended to be.

Why are crazy teachers like this ugly woman allowed in the classroom in the first place. Isn’t there some kind of quality control over what is taught? And the Principle and VPrin were part of this travesty. Fire them all.

Nothing like a bunch of know-nothing teachers on the political left (who else?) trying to impose their crazy, whacky theories on kids. The question is, where did this teacher get her information that this patch was related to slavery????????. What data or policy of the school system connects those two?????? Disgusting that she doesn’t know history. They are going to try and make everything Americans do, offensive. School systems are completely whacked and are showing they are not just worthless but counterproductive to American society.

The principal, vice principal, and all the faculty must be fired and banned from education forever.

A bunch of leftists trying to impose their Marxist ideologies on kids. Works in most cases but not this one. That is why Jaiden is the hero kid.
Thank you Gen. Satterfield for bringing this to our attention.

School teachers, sometimes I wonder just how dumb they really are to promote such anti-American and anti-history ideas.

The Gadsden flag originally was intended as a naval flag. The symbolism was meant to warn Great Britian not to trample the liberties of the colonists. If anything it represented a distrust of crown and had nothing to do with racism.

For political leftists that run the Vanguard school system, they got whacked a good one this time but they will retaliate against this hero kid. Just a matter of time. It is unbelievable that this teacher is keeping her position. It is quite obvious that she is bias, bigoted and ignorant. Millions of Americans are fed up with school boards and their political agendas. This school, the board and staff need to be sued for constitutional violations. Vote the stupid school board out at the next election and put their pictures in the local newspaper, along with all the teachers who were involved and the Principle too. I’m a High School teacher and I know that public shaming works.

Mr. TJ, you would know being a teacher. It would be one thing if the school had a flag policy that stated that only the American Flag is allowed and no others, but they obviously don’t. They are abusing their powers by saying the flags we like are ok, but certain flags WE don’t like are banned. That’s morally wrong and they need to be held accountable for their abuse of power. Bottom line, EVERYONE gets to fly their flag of choice or no one does. School administrators have crossed that line and need to be stopped.

Immediately FIRE the “teacher” and make sure she never works again in a public school system.

Being brainwashed and liking it is a terrible combination of the ultimate in stupidity. I stand for the 1st Amendment. This school hates free speech and shows their total ignorance.

The “Don’t Tread on Me” flag has nothing to do with Slavery…in fact, to this day it’s literally the motto on Virginia license plates. I live in New Hampshire with the motto “Live Free or Die” on our license plates…these are expressions of freedom coming from the Revolutionary War. That teacher and her administration need to be held accountable…and publically walked out of the school and fired on the spot.

Actually, getting him out of class is NOT “the last thing” she wants. It’s actually a high priority for her to get him (and his unapproved opinions) out of class. Even if you disagree with the ideology represented by the flag, he’s allowed to display it. Freedom of speech. The teacher could’ve criticized it and I think that would’ve been fair, but it’s not fair to kick him out of the classroom for it.
