How to Make 100 Cows Happy

[May 13, 2023]  On the lighter side of life, today I will deviate from my typical article and hit on Tom Pemberton Farm Life.  Tom is a UK farmer with a good sense of what a cow wants and knows how to make 100 of his cows happy.

Humor, much like art, is to be searched out.  Often, like Tom, we push ourselves to overcome life’s tragic and unclear nature.  We can look to those things and situations that give us beauty, humor, a smile, and satisfaction.  And, sometimes, we find those in the most unusual circumstances.

Here’s Tom’s story on how to make 100 cows happy.

A local company in the UK called Mayo Cow Comfort (I know this might seem odd) helped Tom install a cow brush.  This is a scratching post for cattle and horses, typically installed in a large open field or enclosure.  You can buy these “brushes” on Amazon or, if you prefer, at dairy equipment stores (see FutureCow here).

These cow brushes are designed to help ensure dairy cows and beef cattle remain clean, relaxed, and comfortable.  But there is more.

I found the comments about Tom to be just as entertaining as his setup with the cow brush in his field.  Here are a few of them:

“I love how when it started, you were along in setting up this new cow brush … but then, there is an ever-increasing gaggle of cows watching you set this new brush up so they can have the first go with it. lol.” – CeltycSparrow

“I’m not a Cow, but this made me happy.” – edzzkie

I enjoyed the YouTube video of Tom and his happy cows.  You can watch it here (YouTube, 11:29 minutes).

Army Captain, you hit something important here when you note that the VA is no longer interested in helping Veterans. Their leadership has a different mission now.

It is so sad in the case of our Vets. That is what happens when the corrupt Biden family gets involved in anything. it becomes an immediate shitshow.

According to Freud, humor is one the highest levels of adaptive defense mechanisms, which allows us to maintain a healthy perspective in the face of misfortune and adversity. Many other psychology theorists agree, and believe humor is a most dynamic way to deal with life struggles, trauma and everyday challenges. Don’t ya just love it when S. Freud gets into something so simple as humor? Yeah!!! Me too. All the best to Gen. Satterfield and our fan club here in his forums.

Social psychology researchers look at how humor creates bonds among groups and communities. How it can persuade, influence and create cohesion or conformity.

Laughter is, indeed, the best medicine. And that is also why conservatives are so happy and liberals are so made and full of hate. The liberals have zero sense of humor. Anyone surprised there? You shouldn’t be.
