[December 16, 2025] Most folks in America are unaware that since 2010, there has been a project underway to locate, document, and share the stories of our World War II U.S. Navy submarines. Furthermore, the majority of those unaccounted for, labeled as Missing in Action, are from our Navy. This is what Lost 52 Project is all about.
As the end of the year approaches, I ask you to consider a donation to help this organization continue honoring the legacy and sacrifices of our WWII Submarine heroes.
The Silent Service Submariners were all volunteers who chose to fight for our country’s freedom while serving underwater in vast oceans around the globe. Their sacrifices and untold stories are part of the educational outreach the Lost 52 Project aims to preserve.
The Lost 52 Project’s submarine discoveries and ongoing research collection have contributed to naval and geographical history while providing closure for many families.
Previous donations have helped expand their educational outreach to future generations through school presentations, a revised and more comprehensive website, and a new online store. This may be a tough time for many, so any donation supporting Project 52’s efforts is greatly valued.
“Our sincere thanks for all the interest and continued support of the Lost 52 Project and Ocean Outreach. In consideration of family expectations and the sensitive and personal nature of the underwater final resting places, we seek to discover and explore, and we maintain a policy of not disclosing current ongoing expedition plans and only announcing discoveries once expeditions are completed and data is verified. We understand that families are looking for closure and hopefully one day all our missing submariners and service men and women will be found.” – Lost 52 Project website

Not that long ago, Gen. Satterfield wrote about Lost 52 which refers to the 52 US Subs that were lost and not found during WWII, 1941-1945. While the war was beyond these dates (US centric), this non-profit actually does good things by hunting down those who were lost at sea. What many do not know is that the majority of those who are classified as Missing In Action (MIA) actually were part of the US Navy. When a sub or ship goes down, those on board who die are forever lost. There will never be anything to recover, except in the ultra rare circumstances that they stayed aboard and the ship is discovered and recovered. Mostly, this will not happen. Kudos to the Navy seamen who are lost forever. Good luck with Lost 52. They will get a nice contribution from me. 🌊
Indeed, they are also an educational non-profit too. Non-profits have taken a big hit recently, as the American people discovered the massive scams in USAID and Medicaid, and others. This scam involves taxpayer donations to. Nonprofits that kickback much of that money to Democrat Party higher ups. That is why Nancy Pelosi and other senior Dems are so rich. Plus insider trading which is okay for politicians (not okay, but legal). Wishing Lost 52 continues on their path to do good things despite the reluctance of many to donate.
They are doing yoeman’s work.
