Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary as a fulfillment of the Old Testament’s Messianic prophecy. In Luke 2:7 it states Mary “wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
