My Thoughts on President Trump’s UN Speech

By | September 26, 2025

[September 26, 2025]  Earlier this week, President Donald Trump gave his fifth speech at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.  I admit to a bias about the UN.  For decades, I had to work with UN representatives.  I don’t like them because they are bureaucrats who, at best, get in the way of trying to prevent and end conflicts. Trump has a similar view, and here are my thoughts on President Trump’s UN speech.

Trump thinks the UN is amateur hour and has no use for the organization at all.  Trump delivered his message politely but clearly and unequivocally, and to a group of nations that needed to hear it.  Those who didn’t listen will pay a heavy price through economic and demographic collapse.

Here are the key takeaways from President Trump’s speech:

  1. The United Nations is useless because One World leftists run it.
  2. The UN is not in the business of helping calm wars down.  It is in the business of promoting leftist ideology.
  3. Current U.S. policies contrast with the previous four years under Biden: ” Years of weakness, lawlessness, and radicalism … delivered our nation into a repeated set of disasters.”  Now, we’re the “hottest country anywhere in the world.”  His implication is that our policies would make other nations stronger. America is leading the world today, not the UN. He is also contrasting Europe with Joe Biden’s administration.
  4. America, under Trump, stopped seven wars.  This is the job of the UN, and they failed spectacularly at stopping any war.  He is frustrated that the UN didn’t even lend him help in preventing these wars.
  5. Trump scolds UN member nations by asking, “What is the purpose of the United Nations?”  “For the most part, at least for now, all they seem to do is write a really strongly worded letter and then never follow that letter up. It’s empty words, and empty words don’t solve wars.”l.”
  6. On the Ukraine-Russia War, he scolds our American allies for their failures to help end the war.  Specifically, he calls out China and India, which are the primary funders of the ongoing wars by purchasing Russian oil. He also acknowledges that even some European countries have not cut off Russian energy.  Trump then threatens powerful tariffs to stop the bloodshed, but requires the cooperation of UN countries.
  7. All over the world, illegal immigration is badly damaging established countries.
  8. Global Warming is a major scam. “If you don’t get away from the green energy scam, your country is going to fail.”
  9. And, Trump scorched the UN for failing to treat Hamas as a terrorist organization, which it certainly is.  And for their pending decision to “recognize” a Palestinian state when there is no Palestinian state to recognize.  This is a fool’s errand for UN members.  He called the Oct 7, 2023, invasion of Israel an “atrocity” and demanded that Hamas “release all the hostages now.”

The speech entertained me, as Trump was giving the UN a much-deserved dressing down. If the UN had a track record of success, then I might not think this way. But the UN has repeatedly failed its stated mission and created missions outside its foundation documents.

What President Trump didn’t do was to attack Russian President Putin or Chinese President Xi.  He purposefully did not put them down because he has upcoming dealings with both in the near future and needs their cooperation.

Is the United Nations a joke? At least many think so.  I think so.  The fact that the escalator stopped working just as Trump and his wife stepped onto it, and the teleprompter stopped working, certainly proves Trump right that the UN is amateur hour.

Indeed, the UN is amateur hour.

Gen. Satterfield sure has a way with this analysis. The big takeaway, however, is the end of Globalization and learning that Communism is crashing everywhere it was tried in the 20th century. China and Vietnam have made some headway to get Communism acceptable but in the end, they fail at producing at the level taht America does and will never catch up. We now see the horrific downside to Communism and its sister ideologies. It just doesn’t work without coercion and that always leads to death and destruction.

I also agree that the Green New Scam is draining dollars from ordinary folks and giving it to politically connected friends of the President (like Obama and Biden). They should be investigated for recieving kickbacks.

Trump is the best president for America. Too bad the world is headed off a cliff. We will be okay as long as Trump is the president. But, let’s not get too complacent and elect another retard like Joe Biden. Biden made corruption great again. We want America great again.

      Otto, exactly.
Make America Great Again which is Donald Trump.
Make America fail again which is the Democrat Party.

All organizations trend toward Leftist ideologies today and for the past several decades. This is just another one. Without a great leader who can steer the organization toward their intended purpose, the crazy Leftists infiltrate and dominate and bring in evil. They will always do so. It’s the law of large, complex organziations. Never take your eye off the mission, a lesson for senior leaders.

Once again, Gen. Satterfield is telling us that some organizations drift away from their original intended purpose, and the results are not pretty. They become their own mission just to keep the money flowing. It takes a real leader to break the cycle and Trump is the man to make that happen.

Not the main idea, but I liked it when … “ And, Trump scorched the UN for failing to treat Hamas as a terrorist organization, which it certainly is. And for their pending decision to “recognize” a Palestinian state when there is no Palestinian state to recognize. This is a fool’s errand for UN members. He called the Oct 7, 2023, invasion of Israel an “atrocity” and demanded that Hamas “release all the hostages now.”” Anyway, Trump is the GOAT.

Kick the UN out of New York City and if they want to remain in America, put them in Vicksburg, Mississippi. LOL. 😂

Hi Fred. I was thinking we should cut the UN building’s electrical power in the middle of the day. And, just as they’re leaving the building, restore the power. Repeat as often as necessary until they beg forgiveness. Ha ha ha ha ha.

I grew with Fred. The UN is worse than useless. Throw them out. No money for the terrorists who the UN bows to.
