[February 16, 2024] Understanding the thinking of your enemies and friends is at the pinnacle of successful senior leadership. An old military saying says the best way to win is to “get into the mind of your enemy.” Lately, with the Tucker Carlson interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, we’ve seen several “experts” trying to do just that. And here we have a recent article from Politico that says Putin believes Joe Biden would be better for Russia than Donald Trump.
The Politico article (link here) reports that in a Rossiya 1 television interview on February 14th, Putin expressed his preference for Biden over Trump for the upcoming U.S. election. According to the article, Putin is quoted as saying Biden “is more experienced, predictable person. He is a politician of the old school. But we will work with any leader of the United States who is trusted by the American people.”
If anything, Putin is also an ‘old-school politician.’ He chooses his words carefully and knows how those words will be interpreted both by his people in Russia and America and by his adversaries in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Others who study Putin claim that it would be foolish to take him seriously because Putin’s lies are notorious. That assessment is oversimplistic and wrong.
However, it does appear logical that Putin would favor Biden over Trump. Why? Many claim that Biden is weak, corruptible, feckless, and confused but predictable. Biden is easier to handle than Trump, which perhaps makes Putin believe Biden is “better for Russia.” This way of thinking is what most of us might say in Putin’s place.
So, to put it bluntly, this is one time that I agree with Putin. It’s a good thing that Putin doesn’t get to vote.

True enough, Pres. Biden is better for Russia because he is better for allowing Putin to do whatever he wants. I’m surprised that Putin didn’t also say that Biden is also better for China since the Biden family takes bribes from China.
Neat Man II. I’m not so sure that is correct becuase Putin is a liar. And what he says also has a double edge to it and maybe a triple edge also. In other words, there are many meanings of Putin’s words and that is one of the points I think that Gen. Satterfield is getting at here. You cannot trust a snake to be anything other than a snake. Kind of like trying to trust a Democrat in America because they are also snakes in the grass that you have to be aware of. They bite and their bite is poisonous. Look at the college students who have destroyed their lives by adopting this new neo-Marxist ideology that infuses everythng they do.
Great article. You can’t believe Putin .He words are carefully thought out. His is a master of deception. What he is really saying Trump is his choice. Let’s look at the years trump was in office and the close friendship he had with Putin..He favor what Putin said over his own Staff.

Nice article that points to the depravity of Putin and Biden. Two peas in a pod. Little difference in these tiny men except that Biden is restricted by our Constitution and patriotic Americans.

Indeed, Gen. S. is da man. He writes about what he thinks and doesn’t give a damn what others think. He has the on-the-ground experience and smarts. Listen to him and you cannot go wrong. And, in addition, he regularly puts out a few series that are also interesting and informative. Like his latest, “Letters to My Granddaughter.” Ya, just gotta love it. 😀
