Scott Bessent: Economic Hero

By | November 14, 2025

[November 14, 2025]  Occasionally someone comes along at the highest political level that knows what he’s doing and uses those accumulated skills quite effectively.  Scott Bessent is the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury and probably one of the smartest economic advisors to a U.S. President that America has ever had.  For that reason alone, I see him as a sort of economic hero.

Scott Bessent is on a mission to ensure America does not make the same mistakes we’ve made for decades with lose-lose federal economic policies.  What I really like about him is that he willingly goes on adversarial, left-learning talk shows to explain what he is doing and how it directly affects Americans.  This is most true when he roasts these Leftist political pundits who believe they are somehow “experts” in the economic field.

In this clip, Secretary Bessent explains that the $20 billion “bailout” of Argentina was not “a bailout.” Rather, he says, it was a profitable currency swap. His MSNBC antagonist doesn’t know what a currency swap is, although claims to understand the difference.  It was Secretary Bessent who tweeted out this clip:

In another exchange on the Morning Joe Show, Secretary Bessent humbles Mike Barnicle (who was fired for plagiarism).  Barnicle prefaces his gotcha question with the “hope that this question doesn’t piss you off.” He could simply have posed the question respectfully without the nasty implication. In any event, Barnicle thanks Secretary Bessent for straightening him out. Ka-Pow!

Bessent is smart.  Those who take him lightly, like we so often do with political appointees, will be politely schooled by him.  The Morning Joe program is just the latest example of Bessent unapologetically making the point that America’s economic status is strong and growing.

Despite those who profess their expertise on the economy, while repeatedly making poor judgments, Bessent knows what he’s doing.  Bessent is an economic hero for America.

Sir, looks like our most senior politicians are getting their act together and hiring smart, experienced people to help us Americans and not just ideologues like Biden and Obama hired. Thanks.

Well, Scott Bessent is a good man, smart, and focused. I think Gen. Satterfield is giving us an example of how that works. And we can immulate him.

I’m pretty tired of Presidents putting their friends into cabinet positions, like Obama and Biden did. Now, we actually have someone who is showing their abilities and making our capitalist system work better than ever. That is good for EVERYONE, not just for the rich. A rising boat lives all of us. And that is happening in America today. Even our poorest citizens are richer and have far more opportunities than the rich in many other countries. Yes, our poorest citizens can do better, if they are smart and willing to work.

Scott Bessent works for all Americans and that he is in the Trump Administration is less important. But, he has made great fiscal and economic recommendations that have been approved by President Trump and these are working to all our advantage, regardless of income or socio-economic status. That’s the kind of policies that should be on the books. Unlike Joe Biden’s policies that were to the best advantage of his rich friends and political allies. Biden was all about paying off his friends and family; so he was, by definition, corrupt. And the world now knows that the level of corruption in Biden’s administration was deeper than anyone knew at the time.

When I looked up the word “corruption” in my new dictionary, it had a picture of Joe Biden beside it. 😆…. And stupid is, as stupid does.

I always watch him on the weekend shows as he spends little time crushing those who oppose Trump’s economic policies, that Bessent himself has recommended and are working great. As others have noted, America will be stronger under the current Trump economic policies. We are already stronger, even after the Democrats who shutdown America for the longest time ever.

👍 A new hero category for Gen. S. “Economic Hero.” Well, at least now we know about it. Mr. Scott Bessent will be the key to helping the American economic system. Despite push back and this happens anytime we do something new, America will be stronger than ever.

Yep, America will be stronger under President Trump and not weaker, deliberately weaker as we were under Obama and dimwit Biden.

Valkerie, thanks!! What is good here is that this kind of information tells us that Mr. Bessent is a “good man.” I know that Gen. Satterfield looks for “good” people to highlight here in his blog on leadership. Clearly, Mr. Bessent is a leader and shows us that he has a heart in the right place. How he got tapped for that job at the US Treasury is irrelevant but I’m sure interesting. Great choice, Mr. President. We need more like him in politics, those that cannot be swayed by radicals in either political party.

… Bessent is indeed a “good man” and deserves the accolades that he receives. His economic policy recommendations to President Trump are based on decades of proven outcome from those recommendations. This is in stark contrast to Joe Biden’s terrible policies that made America worse off. This is why elections matter. And the fact that the Democrat Party is in decline explains that Americans are catching on to their scam.

I’m happy we have good men like Scott in politics. I know this is not his preference but he has shown some natural ability to be steady under fire from Leftist lunatics.

I agree with you, sir, that Scott Bessent is one of the better “advisors” to President Trump. Much unlike the ideological lapdogs that ex-President Biden or Obama had on their staffs. Scott also is willing to go into those “uncomfortable” situations with overly-aggressive (but dumb) leftist tv shows. I love seeing him there as he politely tears them a new one. Ha Ha. I love it when he gives them a economic butt whuppin’.

Ernest, great to see you back in the leadership forum. I missed your wit. And, I also completely agree with you that Scott Bessent is smart and also, let’s not forget, very experienced. He knows what works and what doesn’t work (vis a vis theory and reality). This is what makes him so valuable for our country. While the Marxists on social news media, the Democrat Party, and academic whackos continue to try to destroy the highly successful American economic system, Scott Bessent is working to keep it going and make it stronger.
