The Smithsonian’s Anti-Racist Screed

By | July 27, 2026

[July 27, 2026]  In America, and likely the rest of the West, a subtle but alarming cultural shift is underway right in front of us. A number of influential voices now claim that a specific list of traits is indicative of ‘racism.’ Jordan Peterson addresses this claim in a recent post on X.

What distinguishes Peterson is that, unlike many of his critics, his views rest on clinical psychology informed by decades of work with thousands of patients. His insights are not purely academic; they are grounded in extensive practical experience.

The “unflattering” traits listed as characteristic of white culture—even white supremacy culture—by institutions such as the Smithsonian share one fundamental psychological feature in common: They are all indications of—are you ready for it—the Big Five trait conscientiousness.  Conscientiousness is the best known personality predictor of life success after general cognitive ability (otherwise known as intelligence).  — Prof. Jordan Peterson

Regular readers of my website will immediately notice how closely the Stoic ideas I have presented align with Professor Peterson’s views—views for which I regularly make space. I regard him as a bright light in the darkness of an academia that, despite abundant funding, has failed to give our young a valuable education.

The chart from the National Museum of African American History (NMAAH), published in 2020, was taken in part from “Talking About Race” and closely adapted from Judith H. Katz, Some Aspects and Assumptions of White Culture in the United States.  I do recommend her chart, which goes into greater detail and only reinforces Prof. Peterson’s correct judgment about the failure of these “leftists” to realize the deleterious impact this will have on young non-whites.

“We need the museum to CLEAN HOUSE! Director Hartig must be fired, most staff must be fired, replace them with people who revere American history!” – U.S. Representative Brandon Gill

Rep. Brandon Gill just laid it out clearly: the museum is being run by people who openly hate American history. He says Director Hartig needs to go, most of the staff needs to go, and they should be replaced with people who actually revere this country’s history.

Well said.

This article by Gen. Satterfield is right on the money. Wokeness did start under Obama and grew worse under Biden. Those leaders pushed ideas that turn people against our own history (and each other). The Smithsonian chart is a clear example of that bad thinking. It calls good habits like hard work and planning “racist.” Those habits help every person succeed, no matter their color. Blaming white culture for success only hurts young people. It teaches them to hate the tools that build strong lives. Half the country still cheers these leaders, which shows real confusion. We need leaders who love America and teach real history instead. Cleaning out the museum staff is a good first step.

This is directly the results of WOKEness put in place by the anti-American Barack Obama and braindead Joey Biden. And yet they were and still are loved. Half of American is mentally ill.
