West Point and Its Woke Ideology Shows

By | March 15, 2024

[March 15, 2024]  West Point continues down its current path to Woke, simultaneously denying the obvious.  West Point is failing at its mission to train battle-worthy cadets to enter the U.S. Army.  In a recent article by reporters Bill Gertz and Mike Glenn, they point out that West Point is deleting “duty, honor, country” from its mission statement.

In their Washington Times article (link here), they report that the U.S. Military Academy at West Point has received a backlash from their removal of these words.  As I’ve written before, there is a continuing politicization of the U.S. military under President Joe Biden.  It is plain to see, despite continued denials by Pentagon top brass.

The mission statement included these three words, which were made famous by retired U.S. General Douglas MacArthur’s 1962 farewell address to West Point cadets.  MacArthur’s address gave prominence to the motto adopted by West Point in 1898.

“Duty, Honor, Country is foundational to the United States Military Academy’s culture and will always remain our motto.  The change in the wording of the mission statement was prompted by a requirement to “assess ourselves regularly.” – Lt. Gen. Steve W. Gilland, West Point Superintendent

Academy spokesman COL Terence M. Kelley declined to state why these words were removed from the mission statement, other than saying that it was a part of the academy’s effort for an “evolving” statement.  “… the change does not have to mean woke politics.”  Yep, it does.

“Like in many great institutions in the United States of America, progressive ideology is eroding away at West Point and doing so in a slow but methodical march, co-opting our good intentions through the specter of cultural Marxism.” – the MacArthur Society of West Point Graduates, a patriotic group.

West Point spokesman stated that the change was “Army Senior Leader approved” but does not identify that senior leader.

The U.S. military, specifically the U.S. Army, is experiencing severe recruiting shortfalls.  I noted earlier how military recruiting ads were full-Woke and were turning away recruits.  As noted in the article, this change will cause more controversy over the state of the military under President Biden and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

It’s just another sad day in the path of Wokeness that our military travels.

My brother is currently in the U.S. Air Force. They went woke a long time ago and the stories he tells me are amazing.

A woke military is an ineffective military. Biden, Milley, and Austin have done and allowed more damage to our military than I ever would have expected. I knew the wheels were coming off our military when the horrific, dumbshit decision to pull out our military first from Afghanistan before civilains happened. Crazy shit. Biden is woke and woke is destroying our coutnry. Now Biden is against our ally Israel and supporting the terror group Hamas. The insane are running our country.

Too bad about West Point, this was the last place I would have thought Woke would take hold. Guess I was wrong. Time now for the rainbow underwear to be issued to all the West Point leaders.

It’s worse in Canada. So don’t get too complacent down there in the states. It can be much much worse.

🎖️💪 So sad what has happened to the US Army and the rest of the US military in only a few short 3 years under the Biden White House. What does that tell me? It says that our leaders were not strong to begin with. The ease at which they went full woke was astonishing. The fact that none of them resigned in protest confirms my suspicion that the generals and admirals were nothing but paper tigers and corrupt to their core. We make fun of the Russian army today but look at our army. We are just as bad at the top level. Gen Mark Milley (thank God he is no longer a solder) is the epitome of how bad and politial they get. He was horrible as the Chief of Staff. I was dancing with joy the day he retired.

Progressive ideology is nothing but racism wrapped in a blanket of compassion. It is based on a lie, the big lie, and that is an easy way to show your liberal bonifies to other crazy, anti-Americans.

When you lower your standards, like the US has done, expect to see a lower ability to fulfill your mission.

Lower standards leads to destruction of the military.

Great article, Gen. Satterfield. I understand your frustration. The US military has two main problems right now. First, political woke ideologues at the top. And, second, lazy stupid Gen Z’ers at the bottom. That’s what my friends are telling me now. Good luck if you get in, they will take anybody who has two eyes and can breath.

Thank you sir and for your help in getting me to focus on my future goals. I agree that our military under Biden and Milley has really gone downhill a lot. They are WOKE and caught up into an ideology that doesn’t allow them to see the impact they are making and that impact is very bad. Better at this point to leave the military alone. As High Schoolers are not going to college because they see no value in it, white males (the most common soldier) are avoiding service because they are being attacked as racist, homophobic, sexist, etc.

Yes, Jonnie, well written. But I think the solution, or at least much of the solution, can be found at properly teaching our young people how to be good people. Gen. Satterfield has written a book, “55 Rules for a Good Life” https://www.amazon.com/55-Rules-Good-Life-Responsibility/dp/1737915529/ In this book he lays out the simple formula for being a good person and he also acknowledges the difficulty of making it so. If you read the Bible, you will also find the solution, altho the Bible is a little harder to extract lessons from, but possible. Get yourself together, stop being a victim, tell the truth, and adopt responsibility.

DON’T JOIN THE ARMY ……… this from an Army Vet. Gen Milley and Pres Biden pushed protecting our nation from all enemies off a cliff.

Sad, but best advice for young people. Maybe get into the US Marines, but not the other services. 💂🏻
