Who is Mike Lindell?

By | February 23, 2020

[February 23, 2020]  Pierre DeSault1 once said that the important thing is to “be able to give up all that we are for what we can become.”  Former drug and alcohol addict Mike Lindell kick-started his life on the path to giving up his destructive behavior to establish and grow his company MyPillow.  Mike Lindell is a modern-day example of what DeSault meant.

Mike is what many would call a come-from-behind kid.  Down on his luck and sporting several terrible habits and addictions, he crawled out of his despair to get clean and stay that way.  Operating a number of startup businesses was not easy and, in fact, the greatest challenge of his life if you listen carefully to what Mike has to say.  He started a carpet cleaning business, lunch wagons, and a few bars and restaurants in his home state of Minnesota.

“It’s been very good for business, but I just do what I’m supposed to do what God’s called me to do.  And I really – I’m not going to back down.” – Mike Lindell, owner of MyPillow

For supporting Donald Trump for U.S. President back in 2016 before the last election, Mike was attacked online and in the press for being a simpleton and a fake.  His business was threatened with a boycott and his employees threatened.  But none of that made Mike change his style or his method of doing business.  Most famous for his American-made pillows, Mike advertises on television and radio to ensure his business remains viable.

A few years ago, I wrote about the ten American core values I thought most important.  Re-reading those three articles got me to thinking that Mike Lindell fits all of them.  Mike sets the example as someone who is independent and has adopted responsibility, is honest and has integrity, has a strong faith in God, and is a defender of the helpless.2

Mike Lindell is certainly not politically correct.  He speaks openly about his past problems and that faith in God is what saved him from certain doom as a drug addict.  Over the past few years, Mike has gain prominence in the growing sleep-assisted retail market.  His company has settled lawsuits about alleged misleading advertising.  Were the lawsuits due to his political affiliation with Donald Trump or were based on real circumstances, we’ll never know.

One thing we can say about Mike Lindell and that is he is a hero to the downtrodden, a courageous supporter of his company and his employees, and is a dedicated Christian.  He has my vote.

  1. Pierre DeSault was born in Arzacq (southern France) in 1665, became a medical doctor, ordained priest, and principle of a college.
  2. Lindell created the Lindell Foundation; a faith-based foundation originally started to help addicts and MyPillow employees. The Lindell Foundation had a soft launch nationwide in August 2017, with a special project to help Hurricane Harvey The foundation’s focus was then broadened to help people with any personal problem, including addictions, work and spousal problems, people living with cancer, and veterans.

Good man, Mike Lindell. I love his products and have his new Giza sheets at home. They are worth it.

Another enjoyable and educational article. Keep up the mini series on “Who is”. I like them. I knew who Mike Lindell is but many of the others went over my head due to a poor education.

Teachers today are more interested in keeping peace in the classroom and turning out social justice warriors and victims than teaching important stuff like character.

Good add, Len. Well written Harry. Like all those who are successful, they don’t rely upon luck or someone giving them a handout. In fact, they reject handouts and believe that they should be the one (and only one) who can make things happen. They adopt responsibility for their actions and TELL THE TRUTH.

A great article on a great man, Mike Lindell. If you watch tv or listen to radio you will hear him talk about his made-in-America products and how he is using local labor force from his home state of Minnesota. That is what I also like about him so much. He is doing a wonderful job of helping others AND making money at the same time.
