A Few Things to Think About (Part 2)

By | October 22, 2022

[October 22, 2022]  My newest book, “55 Rules for a Good Life,”  is about how to make yourself a better person, and you can do that by comparing yourself to who you were yesterday, not to someone else.  Today is part 2, and I call it “a few things to think about.”

You also have to act in a way that also works for your family; otherwise, your family will have problems and cause you and them all sorts of misery and grief.  And not just your family today but also your family in the future.  And your community.  This idea means you have to set your aspirations so that your aims serve you in the broadest sense over a long period and also serve your family and community.

Remember, you are responsible for your destiny.  How would that look if you wanted to be the noblest person you could be, someone who was adopting the maximum amount of responsibility?  You will need a strategy to put that into place.  That is how you change things properly and do the least harm.

It should be an individual focus – a personal set of ideas that stresses and forces individual responsibility.  One of the things required is that you need a meaningful counterbalance to the tragedies of life.  Otherwise, you just suffer foolishly, and worse, you tend to make people around you suffer the same way.  The way you find that meaning is by adopting as much responsibility as you can.  Are you living up to your potential?  You will never know the answer to that question until you take on the tremendous load of responsibility.

Tomorrow, part 3.  I think you will like my message that anyone can be successful, and nothing is holding us back except ourselves.

Yes, indeed, remember that you are responsible for you and if you are good at it, you are also responsible for your family and your community. No one else is responsible and that is why you should never be a believer in victimization. Be a victim and lose.

Right and that is why Blacks in America continue to fail overall as a race and are not competitive and must be given special treatment. They all believe they are victims. Thus, they lose and lose all the time. There needs to be a great Black leader who will take them away from this. MLKJr. was their last best hope.

Hey folks, don’t forget to check out the Daily Favorites page. Just click the tab. An interesting set of articles from Libs of TikTok. Whether u heard of them or not, it is worth reading about the “book burners” of Twitter and Facebook. These two whacko-led anti-American companies are openly shutting down contrary arguments. Anti-free speech and anti-world.

Gen. Satterfield notes that “You also have to act in a way that also works for your family; otherwise, your family will have problems and cause you and them all sorts of misery and grief. And not just your family today but also your family in the future. And your community. This idea means you have to set your aspirations so that your aims serve you in the broadest sense over a long period and also serve your family and community.” Great comment.

Hi GEN Satterfield, just a note to say hi and that I’m enjoying your leadership website. I see that your leader forum is a great place for ideas. I would like to suggest that you consider writing an article or series of articles on “introversion” and how it helps or harms us as a personality trait.

Good recommendation but I think a starter would be the basics of personality and how it effects leadership in general and then work toward the specifics. Just my thought of the day. 👌

…. Possibly also an article or two on extroverts too and if this leads to better leadership.
