[October 7, 2023] Americans were waking up this morning to the news that Hamas has launched attacks inside Israel from the Gaza Strip. From all indications, this is a significant effort by Hamas to inflict maximum casualties on Israel. Some are comparing this to America’s 9/11. Typically, I do not do early commentary on major developing events, but in this case, I will because many Americans underestimate the severity of these attacks. Israel is under attack now.
Most civilized nations have reacted properly and condemned this unprovoked attack and acknowledged Israel’s right to defend itself against these monstrous attacks on civilians. Sadly, our American State Department’s Office of Palestinian Affairs makes the most ignorant comment.
“We unequivocally condemn the attack of Hamas terrorists and the loss of life that has occurred. We urge all sides to refrain from violence and retaliatory attacks. Terror and violence solve nothing.” – @USPalAffairs
War and violence solve nothing. This is a common refrain from leftists when they want to push their ideology upon the rest of us. And it’s dead wrong (see my earlier comments here and here). The U.S. State Department is saying that Israel should not conduct “retaliatory attacks” against Hamas. That comment is grossly ignorant for those with a bit of common sense.
For now, I’ll leave the strategy of Hama aside because it is hard to see how this helps them other than bragging rights about a successful (so far) military blow against a democratic state. We can see, however, some new tactics that include infiltration of Hamas terrorists, many dressed in civilian attire.
Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu made a statement at the start of the security cabinet meeting, calling for all the country’s citizens to unite.

Our first goal is first of all to cleanse the area of the enemy forces that have infiltrated, and restore security and peace to the settlements that were attacked. The second goal, at the same time, is to exact a huge price from the enemy, also in the Gaza Strip. The third goal is to fortify other arenas so that no one makes the mistake of joining this war. We are at war, in war, you have to keep calm. I call on all citizens of Israel to unite in order to achieve our highest goal – victory in the war.” – PM Benjamin Netanyahu
Clear and precise. That is what a leader can do in times like this. I put my faith and support fully behind Israel and hope they use this as an opportunity to destroy Hamas as a terrorist organization and ignore quisling countries like America.

A senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expresses support for an attack Hamas launched against Israel, calling it a “proud operation.”
“We support the proud operation of Al-Aqsa Flood,” Yahya Rahim Safavi says at a meeting held in support of Palestinian children in Tehran, quoted by ISNA news agency.
“We support this operation, and we are sure that the resistance front also supports this issue,” says Safavi, who is a senior general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
Safavi expressed backing for the Palestinian terrorists “until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem.”
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani also hailed the Palestinian terror assault on Israel.
Iran is a big supporter of Hamas’ terror. Time to take Iran out and solve many world problems at the same time.
