Chicago Mayor’s Solution to Food Deserts

By | September 25, 2023

[September 25, 2023]  The socialist mayor of Chicago has a solution for the food deserts in his city.  That’s food deserts, not food desserts.  Chicago grocery stores (and other stores) are closing in Chicago because shoplifting has become so pervasive that they can no longer make a profit.  Such an outcome was predicted long ago when the previous mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, called for defunding the police, revamping the criminal justice system, and not prosecuting shoplifting.

“The mayor of Chicago has announced they will increase their police presence and start to prosecute people for theft.  No.  No.  They’re not going to do any of that.  They decided the best way to address this [food desert problem] is for the government to start owning grocery stores … “ – Nick Freitas, local veteran @nickjfreitas

New Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson is considering creating city-owned grocery stores after Walmart and Whole Foods close stores in the city.  His administration announced the city would partner with the nonprofit group Economic Security Project to put stores in underserved areas.  I might be accused of being a conservative, intolerant, racist capitalist for this comment, but isn’t this like the old Soviet-style central planning that brought down the Soviet Empire?

“In the coming weeks, we will be taking a much closer look at the challenges we face, and how we will address those challenges reasonably and responsibly, and not on the backs of workers and working families.” – Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson

Feasibility studies are being conducted.  Of course, it matters not one bit what the results of these studies say.  If the mayor moves forward with government-owned grocery stores, they will fail.  And the failure will be both spectacular and expensive.

Chicago police announced that thefts in the city are up 25% to date year over year.  Robberies are up 11%.  You don’t have to be a brain surgeon to determine what will happen next.

Let’s go Brandon ……… Had to write that. Made myself laugh. In all seriousness this Mayor of Chicago, Brandon Johnson, is a progressive lunatic. I’m happy Chicago citizens are finally getting exactly what they voted for. Brandon is taking it too them hard and the are getting it hard. Great news for the world. Keep the idiots there in your city Brandon so we don’t have to suffer them.

Yep, great guy. If you get a chance, go on line and find his ScrewTube channel. He has some great content but he has to dodge ScrewTube’s censors because they are against talking the truth.

Ha Ha Ha, found this funny .. “screwtube” haven’t heard that one before. Any way, I agree that YouTube has it censors out for conservatives, Catholics, moms for monitoring their kids in schools, etc. Just like the FBI who they are giving information to so you can be traced and possibly elected. We know this to be true. No one with a brain trusts the American justice system any more and no surprise. So, watch out Nick Freitas, you are being watched by wannabe tyrants.

Mr. Pink Chicago Mayor. I’m surprised he doesn’t have a rainbow flag behind him. Black privilege at its best. Always looking for a handout. Mr. Mayor …. show me your hand.

Love the eyes, Emmanuel. Yep, the folks who vote to remove the punishment of crimes will suffer from their “ignorance” (I’m being polite since Gen. S. runs a family friendly website). Let us all pray for those people to wake up and for them to elect a government that doesn’t promise handouts but promises that everyone must be responsible for what is happening and that all of us must step forward to stop the crime. Else, Chicago will go the way of Detroit.

Typical liberal, blaming all his problems (that he created) on everybody else. Works in a liberal city every time and they wonder why they don’t get more done that works.

Pray for Chicago, the people there need all the help they can get even if they brought it all upon themselves.

Indeed, that is the charitable thing to do! But at some point, Chicago citizens have to take responsibility for their own stupid ignorant willfully-stupid actions and ideas. 🙏

I have to admit you are right, Greg as the Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (Let’s go Brandon) has already charged the big stores pulling out of the food business with being racist becuase they don’t want to be in a black city, according to him any way. This is the height of ignorance but most of the dumbasses still living in Chicago still will believe him. Dumb is as dumb does and dumb is the new byword for those living in Chicago. 🤣

Yep, its us racists pulling out our stores. I guess the Chicago Police, their DA, and the Mayor allowing unlimited shoplifting with zero arrests and zero consequences is not doing anything at all to encourage it.

The man is a whacko, diversity hire politician who proves that electing somebody based on skin color leads to absolutely predictable consequences; FAILURE.
