Scotland’s Hate Crime Law

By | April 12, 2024

[April 12, 2024]  A week ago, I wrote about R.K. Rowling’s potential arrest for telling the truth about the “trans craze.”  Now that Scotland’s Hate Crime Law is in effect for one week, there are over 8,000 complaints submitted, and the police force is in an uproar.  But what is most ironic is that many of these complaints were against Scotland’s First Minister for a racist speech against whites that he made a few years ago.

First Minister Humza Yousaf was interviewed by BBC (a leftist media organization) about this speech in 2020.  The reporter asks him directly whether, under the new law, being specifically named, the police will have to investigate him for hate speech.  The First Minister says in his defense that those reporting him for hate crimes are themselves “far right.”  That’s it.  It’s not much of a defense unless you are a racist getting caught red-handed.

Calling those who submitted complaints against the First Minister by the name “far right,” he is trying to say those people should not be listened to since they are just nut cases and their points are invalid.  What we are seeing is the First Minister is becoming a victim of his hate crime laws.  How ironic.  I wonder if he will be appropriately investigated and prosecuted.  Obviously not, but at least stand-up comedians will have a field day.

Sky News Australia has given Scottish politicians a real spanking for this anti-free speech legislation.  The UK’s The Telegraph (behind a paywall) discusses how it is expected that hate crime complaints to Scottish police will outnumber the total for all other offenses.

There is a lesson for the First Minister: pass stupid legislation, and the Scottish people will show you how stupid it is by turning it back onto you.  Now, if only Americans can learn from this but probably not.

Sir, thanks for pointing out the absolute craziness of this “anti-hate crime” law. This goes against all the traditions of Western society and is a meta-Marxist way of thinking and doing. Freedom of speech is what made the West successful and laws against free speech is what makes Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, and other communist/socialist nations into failures on a grand scale.

There is an old rule in politics, hold your opponent to his own standards. Looks like what the world is doing to the First Minister of Scotland …. yep, he is a racist.

Crisanto, yes, welcome to Gen. Satterfield’s leadership blog where he discusses a wide variety to topics and generally writes about how to make yourself a better person and a better leader. We all recognize that we can improve upon ourselves and that we are not “good enough.” That we must strive to improve, and do this by adopting responsibility and telling the truth. If you want to get a better idea of this, then read Gen. Satterfield’s latest book “55 Rules for a Good Life,” and you will get some wonderful suggestions on exactly how to do that. Here is the link to Amazon. The price is excellent.

Yeah, and now that the First Minister is being called out as a hateful racist, the irony doesn’t stop. What I can’t figure out is how this guy made it into such a powerful position. Are the Scottish peoples crazy? why would they put someone like him in office when it is clear as water that the man is just another woke racist. Are they now ashamed of their own flag?
