What is the Biggest Attraction for Women

By | June 27, 2025

[June 27, 2025]  A question that most men think about, especially when they are young, is what is the biggest attraction for women to a man. It turns out, the answer is his comparative status among other men. Dr, Jordan Peterson makes a compelling argument supporting this assertion and like all men, I’ve seen this dynamic play out during my time in the U.S. Army.

Why is this a universal phenomenon across all cultures?  Some will say that women preferring higher-status men is a survival tactic, implying this behavior is instinctual. It must be if we look at male-female pursuits. We call this hypergamy.

This means for women to get the best man is for them to look at how men rank themselves and take from the top. Until I heard Dr. Peterson lecture about this, I never gave it much thought. But it was like a lightbulb lighting up my seeing eyes but not “seeing” this happening.

“And how does she find out [who is the best]?  Well, she sees who wins the contest among men and she assumes that the winner is the winner and so why not have him?  And it’s a perfectly reasonable way of conducting an analysis.” — Dr, Jordan Peterson

I found Dr. Peterson’s discussion of the Adam and Eve story from Genesis to be spot on, as he uses this Biblical story to support this hypergamy argument.  He says that Adam tries to impress Eve (although there’s not any real competition there), so when she comes to him and says she has a new relationship with the serpent, he says ‘no problem.’

“What happens?  The story tells us of the fall of mankind. There’s a deep Christian idea that suffering is the consequence of sin and that the worst sin is the sin of pride. Adam and Eve both fall prey to the sin of pride. Pride comes before a fall.”

Women are attracted to high-status men. And the degree to which a woman is attracted to a man is proportionate to his comparative status. Dr. Peterson says that women will be under the dominion of their husbands. If the husband is fallen, then they are both going to be under the “dominion of his tyranny.”  That’s the definition of the fallen world for women.

The fallen world for men is that God tells them they are “going to toil in the fields and it will bring forth thorns and thistles.”  And the man will make his way forward only through great efforts. When this effort (work) aligns and is in harmony with the moral good, then it is universally recognized by all and provides ”status” upon that man.

What then determines the ultimate goal or aim that confers the greatest status?  The Bible tells us that the top aim is to be as close to God’s word as possible. It follows that such efforts must be along a difficult path, terrifying, yet moral, and this is achieved only if one aims for the moral good of mankind.

To follow the moral aim means that great sacrifices must be made along that journey. And if the sacrifices are worthy and proper, and the aim is moral, the man gains great status.

Of course, the very idea we are even discussing the idea of mate selection today is weird. Why? The world got along fine for millennia without even a thought because this is the natural order of mankind. It works! And it works well, overwhelmingly.

The Feminism “freed” women to live as they want and allows sexual freedom and economic independence. Great! Right? Wrong. Women are now having more mental health issues than ever before — over half are on psychotic drugs.

This is why certain jobs have inherent greater status.

Pay close attention to this paragraph because it is the secret of how men can be successful with women. And remember that it’s not all about money but about status and the ability to achieve status.

Wow, and Dr. Peterson continues to provide this of life’s greatest lessons. We just need to pay attention. This article is also a message to women to only accept the best from a man. Work with him to improve upon himself too.

Good one, Gen. Satterfield. Let’s not let out our secrets too quickly. But, in this case it means that men actually will have to work hard and follow life’s proper path in order to get women attracted to them. Ouch. That means young men are at a great disadvantage. And hypergamy is real.

Paulette, I had a chuckle to myself when I read this article. And like you, I hope he does give away all our most powerful desires over men. But, in this case men should know how to attract women so they all become better and so women have a bigger pool of good men to choose from. But like all humans they are not perfect. A message for me is for them to work diligently at making themselves better and to never stop improving themselves. That is the right pathway to a good life. Oh, and read Gen. Satterfield’s book “55 Rules for a Good Life” and seek responsibility.
