A Special Invitation to Thank Vietnam Veterans

By | August 24, 2025

[August 24, 2025]  In only a couple of weeks, there will be a series of activities that commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. Consider this a special invitation to thank Vietnam Veterans.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, sex, background, religion, or any self-imposed category.

Beginning Tuesday, September 16th at noon, the Vietnam War Traveling Wall arrives at Atlantic Cape Community College, escorted by the American Legion Riders and our NJ State Police. American flags will be waved as hundreds line the streets of the college to welcome the procession and the construction of the wall in the college’s central quad area.

Throughout the week, each day from the arrival of the wall until its departure the following Saturday, events are conducted as we honor and give our respect to the troops who served from 1955 to 1975.

Location: Atlantic Cape Community College (GPS directions 5100 Black Horse Pike, Mays Landing, NJ 08330) in the College Quad area:

Tuesday, September 16:

  • Noon: Vietnam War Traveling Wall arrives
  • 1 PM, Opening Ceremony

Wednesday, September 17:

  • 10 AM, VFW Memorial Service
  • 11 AM, Wreath Laying Ceremony
  • Noon, Main Ceremony & free refreshments

Thursday, September 18:

  • 1 PM, Recognizing those in Law Enforcement & First Responders

Friday, September 19:

  • Noon, recognizing National POW-MIA Day

Saturday, September 20:

  • 5 PM, Closing Ceremony & departure of the Traveling Wall

You can attend any single event or all of them. There is no rain date. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be held indoors at the college theater.

Come out and thank a Vietnam Veteran.

I’ll be there and easily identified by my Dixie Cup headgear. Looking forward to finally getting to meet Gen. Satterfield.

Sir, I can’t be there because of my disability but I’m wishing you all the best of luck and praying for good weather and large crowds. 🙏

Shake the hand of a veteran. Don’t pass up the chance to do so, ever ever ever. There is nohting like this you would regret. Love your heroes and those from the Vietnam War are those you should love. They are the ones that learned early on in their youth that those you have to rely upon are those who are with you when others are trying to kill you. They were the best generation, yet too many in America where on the side of the Democrat Party that drummed up the hate for them. I’ll never forgive those in the Democrat Party for what they did, those like John Kerry, the traitor Jane Fonda and her “friends,” and the weak-kneed politicains they helped produce. The Vietnam Vets are the soul of America, Period. Don’t ever ever ever forget that.

This is when I left the Dem party. Back in the late 1960s.

Wow, nice. Wish I could be there, Gen. Satterfield but just a tad too far to travel. Fortunately, there is one near me, here in Texas.

Alert: here is an opportunity for those of our American citizens who mistreated our Vietnam Veterans to finally atone for their malevolence toward our soldiers. Be there! Finally, do something good for our heroes.

I doubt they will because they believe that they are morally superior and intellectually smarter. Therefore, there is nothing to be forgiven. Just saying that most of them are pretty old now and are living alone with their guilt all built up in their heads and suffering. They are in their own hell. So be it. Perhaps this is a lesson for our youth today who also have adopted these Marxist principles and are always claiming they are oppressed. Let them live with their private hell, in my opinion, they deserve that horror.
