A Turning Point: the Charlie Kirk Memorial

By | September 23, 2025

[September 23, 2025]  I couldn’t let this opportunity go by without commenting on the Charlie Kirk memorial, held this past Sunday.  Attendance was massive by any measure; something like 200,000 with about 70,000 in the stadium. Millions more, like myself, watched online and on television.  The memorial represents something more profound than perhaps we can imagine.

Long before the memorial started, thousands began to fill the stadium.  Christian music was performed on stage.  Those speaking were initially ministers, with politicians coming later.  Speakers spoke from behind bulletproof glass, with protection being a necessary safety measure as long as the political Left continues to adopt violence as an acceptable tool to silence those with whom they disagree.

The memorial was primarily a religious tribute, not political.  That is exactly right.

Speakers were generally good.  Most praised Charlie Kirk for his intelligence and devotion to God and Christian tenets.  The fact that Kirk did not go to college surprised many.  However, his knowledge of the Bible and understanding of the human soul were unsurpassed.  Bluntly, he was a good man.

Erika Kirk’s talk was as expected, at least by my wife and me. She is an excellent speaker and herself a strong person. What she would become is no surprise to those who know her, but most folks in America have little knowledge of her abilities. I had been waiting for her to speak for a long time now, and I was not disappointed.

The end point of the event was when Erika said that she forgives her husband’s murderer, as Jesus forgave those who crucified him.  This was a powerful moment.

Erika may forgive the Leftist murderer, but I do not. And I don’t think many Americans can either. This is why we have a judicial system, to mete out unemotional justice and proper punishments. Individuals can forgive, but the system does not. Prosecutors will seek the death penalty.

I recommend you listen to Erika’s full eulogy for her husband, Charlie. Very few people would be able to meet this moment. Erika absolutely did.

Thinking about Erika forgiving her husband’s murderer, I don’t think I could if someone murdered my wife. I would do what I have the skills to do, and that is to hunt them down and kill them with prejudice. But I’m pretty much a knuckle-dragger anyway.

There have been many who have tried to duplicate Charlie Kirk, but none have yet to meet the moral standard. Let us pray 🙏 that some people can do so. We need a religious revival here in America in order to save it.

You are very fortunate to watch the entire event. There is nothing like a great “event” to get our mental juices flowing and focus on God, Country, and Family. That is one of the main reasons that I read this blog by Gen. Doug Satterfield. Keep up the great works, sir. I love it.

The message is clear and we are seeing this unfold in real time. Don’t think you are the judge and jury and executioner like Democrats believe. Very un-Christian to do so. 🐕

Indeed, Fred, and let us not fall into the emotional trap of lashing out against these mentally unstable Leftists. We should just distance ourselves from them but also keep an outreach so that they can come to be with those of us who desire them no harm. They’ve been lied to, propagandized, and convinced they are righteous, but they are truly lost. The Devil has captured them and they don’t yet know it. We can help them, but be aware they are still a danger to us and themselves.

Let’s just say that the entire event was a miracle because no one was shot by another deranged Democrat Leftist. Extremism runs in the emotionally unstable party minions. Pray for them for they do not what they do. That is the Christian way and the widow Mrs. Kirk has shown us to forgive. And, while the state cannot forgive, we can and move in from here. Now is the time to invite everyone into the fold of goodness and wholesomeness.

I’ll take a shot at answering by saying they are convinced they are morally and intellectually superior to all of us and that we are nothing more than “knuckle-draggers” that deserve nothing. Having adopted the neo-Marxist philosophy of “the ends justifies the means,” then their violence is not just acceptable but desirable.

The philosopher Clement of Alexandria and modern writers cite a passage in Plato’s Republic as a philosophical foreshadowing of Jesus’s fate, where Plato describes the perfect just man being scourged, tortured, and finally impaled or “crucified” for his righteousness, even though the word used in the original Greek is closer to impalement than crucifixion. We all need to seek the highest form of Jesus and we know we cannot achieve such perfection, the willingness to try helps us too be better persons.

Exactly why I read this blog too. We can get another perspective from someone who has seen much of the world by living there and not by being a tourist. Gen. Satterfield is spot on. And that is a good thing for us. I didn’t get the opportunity to watch the Charlie Kirk memorial because I just didn’t think I could take it. Best to everyone here on this blog who thinks like we do and the crazies can go to hell.

Hi Ken, tell us you think 😂 Nothing like honesty. But we don’t want to be like the haters and nutjobs from the Leftist/Democrat Party ilk. We can behave better.

Also let’s behave better. We can show we have our act together much better. Pray instead of riot. A difference.
….. my turn to recommend everyone get a copy of Gen. Satterfield’s book ‘55 rules for a good life’ and read it.
