National Dog Week is Here: Pictures

By | September 22, 2025

[September 22, 2025]  It will come as a surprise to many, but this is National Dog Week. I’m okay with that because I love dogs; at least I love most of them. They’re loyal and exist to please. Sometimes I think this is God’s reward for humanity.

This is the first time that I’ve recognized National Dog Week and I only discovered it yesterday. I didn’t know. So, with this week starting today, I’m posting some pictures of good dogs. Enjoy National Dog Week.

Made me smile. With so much craziness going on in the world, we can be assured that a week of dogs will help us be better people.

Got that right Ken. We all love dogs, at least those who are the best people. And nations with a culture of loving dogs is better in every way than compared to nations without dogs or that eat dogs. Guess who they are?

I love ❤️ all your pictures but especially the last one that looks like the dad and his pup. Looks like Golden Retrievers in a great pose. 🐕 True, I’m a dog lover and have had dogs all my life because they help me with stress relief and can be a protector when I’m out and about in my neighborhood. Lots of things to do where I live and that can draw nefarious people. Dogs are also a sign of discipline.

I can tell you are a dog person by your picture. Great golden lab. 🐾🐾🐾🐾 Of course, so am I and like you, I’ve had dogs all my life and I’m a better person for it. Always had dogs. Always will have doggies. Those without don’t know what they’re missing.

Some dog quotes that I like:
    * Dogs come into our lives to teach us about love. They depart to teach us about loss. A new dog never replaces an old dog, it merely expands the heart. -Erica Jong
    * “The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven, not man’s.” – Mark Twain
    * “Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day.” – John Grogan
    * “There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.” —Ben Williams

And I agree these are some great quotes that many folks can appreciate. But why are we interested in reading great quotes about dogs? Gen. Satterfield has hinted at the answer in his past articles on dogs. My favorite is “Dogs are Us.” https://www.theleadermaker.com/dogs-are-us/ He writes, “Dogs are family. They help make us better. My dog Bella certainly does so, and she will never be forgotten. Dogs are us.” And, of course, Gen. S. is right about them. He also has to rise about his dog Rusty when he was growing up. See his Letters to My Granddaughter.

Just what I need on an early morning at work when I prepare for a long day. Plus, I cannot wait to get home and pet my dog Rusty.

🇺🇸Got that right. It’s 6:30am on the East Coast and I’m having my last cup of coffee with my dog at my feet, relaxing right before I head out to the office and another week of making America Great Again. 🇺🇸
