[September 30, 2025] I’ve had plenty of bad leaders in my 40 years in the Army, and one thing I’ve learned is that sometimes it’s beneficial to work for a bad leader. What that means is that experiencing poor leadership can help us understand what to avoid in the future. That’s how we learn and improve. For all New Yorkers, you should elect Zohran Mamdani and let him fulfill all his campaign promises.
Several Democrats have expressed concerns about Zohran Mamdani running New York City. Despite NY Governor Kathy Hochul endorsing Mamdani (and he not endorsing her), it reveals the Democrat Party’s shift to the left into radicalism.
None of the Democrat candidates have addressed the wave of hate and violence that is a result of this radicalism. Why? Because, for Democrats, criminals are considered victims. They see the world divided into victims and victimizers. Most of us fall into the victimizer category. You don’t want to be there. Listening to their public statements, we shouldn’t be surprised by what they say.
Mamdani is a Democratic socialist influenced by his Islamic teachings. I’m not entirely sure what that means, but listening to his socialist rhetoric, it’s clear he advocates for some of the old, failed leftist policies that have worsened conditions worldwide. These include city-run grocery stores, reducing the police force, no bail for misdemeanor offenses, legalizing recreational drugs, city sanctuary policies, and more.
Let’s also remember free city mass transit, rent control, and prohibiting ICE from enforcing federal immigration laws. How long these policies will last once he becomes mayor before the city begins to unravel remains to be seen.
The School of Hard Knocks is no joke when it comes to bad leadership. If Mamdani keeps his promises—which I doubt—we will witness a high-profile social experiment in New York City, the first of its kind for a major city. We will see what impact radical socialism can have on this once-great metropolis.
I would like to see Zohran Mamdani run and win. My reasoning is that we should let New York City destroy itself with Mamdani as mayor. Maybe then, some of us will be hesitant to elect someone like him again.

[January 3, 2025] There is a gathering storm over the world. Many scholars within today’s Islamic community are admitting their religion of Islam is the problem that spurs terror across the West. They are correct and things are getting worse. Unfortunately, these men – yes, they are all men – are also being targeted for speaking up.

Zohran Mamdani is out to destroy the culture of America because he is Muslim. Period. Any other reasoning is foolhearted. Yes, I also support him being elected. What NYC will find out is that it is easy to vote in Socialism but really hard to extract yourself from it.
Great strategy sometimes people need to have their “less desirable “ wants hit them directly in the face. Like the young socialists who think they are “for the people” but are actually highly ignorant. Their ideas have a firm and historical track record of failure.
I looked him up on YouTube and went directly to the comments section. It seems everyone is planning on voting for him. Looks like this is a done deal. The horror of his socialist/Islamic administration will destroy the culture of New York City. And, maybe just maybe, it needs destroying. The real question is whether someone else can put all the pieces back together again soon enough.

I too hope that he wins. I’ve read Gen. Satterfield’s blog now for many years and I can write with confidence that if he is making a recommendation, then we had better listen closely to it and why. He explains it simply. If NYC is going to elect someone who advocates for policies that have failed repeatedly and “spectacularly” then they had better be willing to admit the failure was his fault and then kick him out at the first opportunity. Like Gen S., I don’t think he will implemnt these because he is just another lying Democrat Politician who lies to get elected and then does as he wants.

I agree, sometimes you need to SEE bad leaders to give an in-the-face example of what not to do, or not to tolerate and how. This is a master class. Let the market show that socialism, once again, is a feel-good but disastrous policy. So, I agree with Gen. Satterfield, let’s watch NYC fail and fail spectacularly. That way, in the future, no political candidate like him will win an election. 🕷🕷🕷🕷
It’s hard to beat our current system which has been the economic engine that has run the world. Now itmis time for others to step up. Mandami’s democrat socialism will not work.

I agree. This is why to be a good person or a great leader, we encourage others to make themselves better. Greta leaders can only make opportunities available and better also to encourage those who follow to take advantage of those opportunities. There is no other way. Get extra copies of Gen. Satterfield’s books and give them away. That’s one way to help as well.
