Nick Freitas on the “Right” to Healthcare

By | January 24, 2026

[January 24, 2026]  As my neighbors and I, located in South Jersey [note I didn’t write New Jersey], are preparing for a large snow storm coming to many parts of the U.S., I’m going to highlight a short take from Nick Freitas. He has provided some timely advice to Bernie Sanders’ followers of the world about the “right” to healthcare.

It is now less than 12 hours out from the storm hitting us in Jersey from the posting of this article.

I’m actually looking forward to seeing a little snow.  My Yellow Labrador dog Bella loves the snow and she is going to have a great time running [almost like swimming] in the mounds of snow that will surely be pushed up by our townships snowplows.  I’ll be sure to keep those township workers here and across our nation in my prayers as they go about removing snow.

Here is Nick’s short take:

Well, Bernie Sanders is back to remind us all that healthcare is a fundamental human right.  I used to think that maybe Bernie Sanders is just ignorant with respect to what a fundamental human right was, but now I know, no, he’s just a liar.  He’s lying about this.  And here’s how I know.

If I were to go to Senator Sanders and I would to say, Bernie I have a fundamental right to keep and bear arms.  Therefore, I expect the government to provide me said arms at taxpayer expense.  I have no doubt that he would be like, ‘Well, Nicholas that is not what a fundamental right is.  It does not obligate your neighbor to pay for your guns.’

Really?  Is that what he would say?  You’re telling me my fundamental right to keep and bear arms just like my fundamental right to freedom of speech or freedom of religion or freedom of the press, doesn’t obligate my neighbors to subsidize my rights.  Huh.

I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that you can’t have a fundamental right to the labor or property of somebody else because that would essentially enslave that person to your needs, wants, and desires.  But wait, that begs the question.

What is healthcare?  Oh, healthcare is a series of goods and services, or another way of putting it, it’s a series of property and labor so you can’t have a fundamental right to it.

Now, why do you keep using this term?  Well, because if you were trying to sell people on what you actually wanted, which was a political takeover of the healthcare industry, you would have to convince people that the thing that will make healthcare more effective, more efficient, more affordable, and accessible is putting a bunch of politicians and bureaucrats in charge of it.

And something tells me you’re not going to be able to sell people on that.  So, like I said, you’re not confused.  He’s just lying.

Nick Freitas is a real patriot American. We need more like him, and a whole lot less of sissy men like Tampoon Timmy Walz.

Gen. Satterfield, we are here wishing you and your family and neighbors a safe and fun snow storm. While most of America (or at least a large part) is experiencing some snow that they don’t normally get, I suspect that there will some unfortunate deaths and unnecessary suffering. Those communities with more experience will feel the effects of this storm less. Sadly, even in those areas there will be people totally unprepared or incapable of managing the impacts. Watch out for your neighbors. Watch out esp for the elderly and infirm. This is what Gen. Satterfield calls being a good person. Be prepared. Be ready to help. But don’t take unnecessary risks. Wishing everyone well, and I’ll see you on the leadership forum tomorrow unless you are shoveling out your sidewalks and driveways.

I suspect that Gen. Satterfield is more than ready. But the elderly and those less capable will be those at risk and in need of those of us who are younger and ready. My snowplow is ready.❄️

Sir, many of us are preparing for the “great storm” that is working its way across the majority of America. Ice and snow even in the South. Now how’s that for a storm. Well, most of us who live in the northern regions of the states are knowledgeable and at least a little prepared from past experience with storms. Here we go. Good luck, sir, with the storm as it hits you and your neighbors in “South Jersey.”

This guy is great. Thank you, sir, for highlighting him for us. I’ll start listening more to him … even if he is from Virginia.

Nick Freitas is a former Virginia House of Delegates member, a Green Beret veteran, and a conservative Republican known for his libertarian-leaning views. He is also a regular on YouTube where Gen. Satterfield has found his comments useful and enlightening. I recommend listening to the “shorts” that he posts. Virginia needs men like him, now especially given that the state went nuts and elected a Democrat crazy woman as governor.
