Showing Moral Courage: Kristan Hawkins

By | April 8, 2023

[April 8, 2023]   It’s been over a year since I’ve highlighted someone for their moral courage, and, yes, that is a mistake.  Today, I am making up for it by writing about a young woman, Kristan Hawkins, President of Students for Life of America (SFLA).  Read more about her at their website (link here).

“A frequent speaker and media analyst, Kristan’s expertise includes abortion, feminism, disability advocacy, and healthcare as she navigates the social conditions and public policy that impacts the human rights issue of our day.” – Students for Life of America website

For those familiar with our ongoing culture war (and yes, it is a real battle for ideas), you know that those who stand for the life of the unborn have a giant target on their back and are subject to verbal abuse and violence.  Any public “pro-life” person will attract the attention of leftist progressives in the most disgusting and provocative ways.  And Kristan Hawkins is no exception, and she is the perfect example of someone who shows moral courage.

Watch any video of her, and you will see the vitriol hurled her way.  The nastiness, name-calling, slander, and disrespect of the “left” is on full display.  Who would you instead align yourself with?  Those who scream, threaten, and throw objects at a speaker, or someone who politely speaks to the innocence and need to protect those who cannot protect themselves?  The choice should be obvious.

Rule 36 from 55 Rules for a Good Life is “Protect the weak and innocent; never pick on the less fortunate; it’s immoral.  Don’t antagonize the strong without cause; it’s stupid.”  Kristan does antagonize the strong, popular leftists today with her common sense, ethical approach to life.  She does it with the most moral cause of our time, the greatest Civil Rights cause of this century, protecting the unborn.

I’m proud to say that I stand with Kristan Hawkins.

Gen. Satterfield, please continue your “Moral Courage” on-going mini-series. I’m always so proud to know that there are folks out there who stand for “life” and are willing to stand up for the innocent. I know that you also cover this in your book “55 Rules for a Good Life.” Rule 36. The world is littered with the bodies of tormentors, bullies, and evil tyrants who target those who are less fortunate than us. To be successful, I believe, means you must do two things. First, you must not be weak, unimaginative, lazy, or spiritless. Second, you must protect those who are weak and innocent. How to do that is the challenge. It would be best to adopt a high degree of discipline, boldness in your actions, and elegance in carrying them out. It means telling the truth and not being fooled by pseudo-truths or taken in by propaganda. This way, we can see evil for what it is, making us powerful, physically strong, mentally resilient, spiritual, and devoted to our family, community, and country.
You will be admired if you can do this. Your life will not be easy, far from it. You will be continuously challenged. But only through overcoming the greatest of challenges can you be successful.

Exactly! This is why I read this website every day. Altho I’m not a prolific writer, I do appreciate what others have done to make the world a better place. Gen. Satterfield is one of them. Kristan Hawkins is another hero.

… and here is another up and coming woman hero. After speaking with eyewitnesses, TPUSA is confident that @Riley_Gaines_ was criminally assaulted last night. Ironically, she was attacked by a man in women’s clothes while speaking out in defense of women. TPUSA is working to identify and hold accountable those responsible.

Gen. Satterfield, I’m happy that you restarted your “moral courage” series. I was wondering what happened. Surely there are plenty of folks out there that deserve mentioning and Kristan Hawkins is certainly one of those who deserve great praise for her stance against abortion. But she does much more. Listen to her on YouTube and other social media platforms. She is one really busy hero.
